Shelfology — Local services in Rexburg

The marketing, website and ordering process for this company is like lipstick on a pig. It is all worthless if the product is bad. I ordered 3 left sided 6” radius shelves which came with the screws sticking out of the top. These shelves were very expensive, so I assumed I ordered the wrong shelves or maybe they sent the wrong shelves, but when I emailed they said “that is how they are made”. There are no images showing the top of the shelves with screws. They said it’s in “the installation instructions”. Do not buy this product. It is overpriced and a big ruse. They would not replace the shelves. The only option I was given was to fix it myself at my own cost OR to buy from their available stock of returned product “at a discount”. Honestly, it’s sad I l could have used them on all my projects, but I hated my experience. Now when I receive their ridiculous marketing is it patronizing because they do not care at all about...

Purchased three 48” x 7” Aksel shelves in maple and one 36” x 13” again in maple to house a CD and vinyl collection. I spread the purchase over a number of transactions and in each case found the interaction with the company, whether through their online web-based ordering system or by phone (the 13” shelf was a custom order) to be top notch and indeed in the latter case fun!

They stayed in touch while the shelves were being fabricated—in one case sent me a photo of them in mid process—and again once they were shipped. Their packing is impressive. Finally the quality of the product is superb; the quality of the maple wood was beautiful. Installation is not difficult, most important is to position the unit so you catch as many studs as possible. Very happy with the whole process and would recommend this company...

This is a tough review because the shelves are nice but here's the catch, if you order them at different times they will be entirely different colors and they told me the best I could do was either stain treat the one I already have to match the new one that I recieved or buy a whole new shelf and send them a pic of what color to match it to. At no point do they say that their color of shelf changes even if you order the same exact one. I get that all wood is different, but I am a person buying a shelf, not a wood expert, and the worst thing of all is I spent a ton of money on the shelf, which I am not...
