Food Lion — Local services in Ringgold

The girls at the front who closed the store tonight were an absolute blessing to me 💕 they were so kind when my wic card transaction wasn't approving everything I had (I'm a new expecting mother and this is my first time using wic so I'm still learning). I only had what I could spend from my wic tonight and it's been a struggle, but something on my list wasnt approved for me and I had no idea what item it was. They were so sweet and so kind and patient to work with me on figuring out what it was and helped me ring up everything that did approve even if it was pushing right at close by the time we got it resolved! By no means did they have to help me figure it out but they were so sweet and reasurred me every time I apologized that it was ok and they didn't mind helping me at all! Because of them I was able to go home with food tonight and they made me feel less embarrassed and happy leaving the store even if I was struggling to get the transaction through on my part! These upfront girls/front end managers need some praise because they were the kindest people to me in one of the most embarrassing situations ❤️‍🩹. They really care and made me feel like I wasn't a bother! Love this store and the 2nd shift front end folks are some of the sweetest cashiers IV ever encountered! (And as a former cashier who worked for a different store chain in the past they were over the top kind to me!) I am blessed that they were working tonight and helped me so much! I usually shop at there locations at Rocky Face and Varnell. This one seems to have more selections. Clean and well organized, like all their other stores I have visited, ample parking, and if you use their coupons and other promotions or shop their own private name products, most of them excellent quality, not expensive, compared to other grocery stores. Some of their items are even cheaper than what you may find them in bargain outlets. Update Jan 2025: After living three plus years is Dalton, Food Lion have gained the majority of my business. Prices are currently about average or lower, if you shop their promotions, offers, coupons etc and the quality to price ratio of their brand name items is the best I have found, for the items I usually buy, plus most of them are coming in recyclable packaging. It had been a year or so since I had been to this particular Food Lion but I saw their weekly sales flyer and wanted to take advantage of several sale items. On entering, my first impression was completely favorable. The store was brightly lit and there were several attractive displays. I had scarcely moved beyond the produce section when assaulted by the most discordant piped-in music. The volume wasn't overly loud but the female singer repeatedly (and I mean repeatedly) screeched the chorus line ad nauseam. I decided to ignore this hoping that the next selection would be better.
