We have them another chance and they were friendly and personable this visit. So I will give them a chance again.

The Rio Rancho location is disrespectful and rude. I went to return an online purchase, due to safety concerns I paid with PayPal. For some reason Cato allows PayPal purchases, since the company knows that many people trust the security of PayPal. But if you return it to the store they refuse to credit your account. Or the card that was processed through PayPal. I explained that on checkout through online that was never disclosed. The clerk/ ? Manager said it IS disclosed on checkout. Here you can plainly see it isn't. Yet she basically called me a liar 3 times in front of other employees and customers. That employee should work in the stock room not dealing lying to and disrespecting customers. I drove 100 miles round trip to go, since they closed the store on the east side and was going to shop after making my return, but since I had bought several items a couple of weeks ago, I wasn't sure if I needed anything. I was returning because the items didn't fit properly and one of them wasn't even made properly. Cato's quality has dipped since Covid and it seems customer service has really gone down since the East side store closed. After the disrespect and lying, I don't know if I will be back. Tonight I went into Cato‘s looking for something special for the holidays with 15 minutes until closing time. As I walk in the employee tells us who are shopping, “You have a few more minutes and I’m turning off the lights.” I quickly choose something with intention of buying $70-$100 worth of clothing and she goes to the back to put stuff away. So I wait for her to come out. There is eight minutes till closing. I told her I think I could do it in five. She responds, “You have three.” She was the rudest employee I have ever come across. I expected a lot better since I’ve been a Cato customer for years. Needless to say I was treated like I didn’t matter or she didn’t need my money. So I walked...

I am so disappointed. There is a woman in there ( older ) woman with long brown hair. As many times I have come there she treats me like I’m going to steal something. I’m a black woman. Have my own money and am not a thief. She is nice to all the white people there but not to me. That is every time when I come in. Today she was very rude told me to come to the register and did not ask me if I was finished. I’m so disgusted in this location in rio rancho. Racial profiling me every time. I’ve spent a lot of money there. I will be complaining to corporate about this location. If I go back there and she racial profiles me again I will say something to her. So...
