Ace really is the helpful place. I go into Ace Hardware a couple times a week for things I need for projects and theyâre always so friendly and helpful to me. People call me by my name there, and when I have a question about anything they spend time to talk to me about it and donât make me feel like Iâm wasting any time. One might even say That there is a sense of community there. When compared to places like Home Depot, which is less expensive, Ace Hardware makes up for it in customer service one great example is last year I had a plumbing issue, and it was gonna cost me $350 to get it fixed by a plumber. But I went to Ace Hardware and talk to someone for like an hour in person and he showed me exactly what to do and for about $30 I got the job fixed. The world needs customer service for the likes of which we find at Ace Hardware. In a fast pace society where people are checking out their own items and self checkout lanes, and not being able to find good quality answers, and knowledge to their home-improvement questions, ace hardware stands out as a beacon of integrity which shines brightly through a cultural context of laziness and apathy towards compassionate communication. I want to give a special shout out to Mike, who has been working there for I think about seven years, heâs the best chain sharpener in River Falls.! also, Emily, Ethan, and if I could post pictures from my mind of peoples faces, Iâd be able to give a shout out to all the staff, but I donât have all their names memorized. God bless...
Read moreMy husband rented the lift to use to cut down trees for our tree business, needless to say he couldnât finish the job due to the power going on and off on the lift he would have to wait 10 minutes or more for it to go up which wasted more time. We had to tell the customer we would have to come back another day to finish! HOW EMBARRASSING!! He was afraid of being caught up in mid air and being stuck. You would think when your renting out items out you would make sure they work before sending them out, not charging them for days then saying they havenât had any issues like my husband was lying to get a free rental, probably because said person had it plugged in the whole time using it. They didnât care that his lights didnât work which being a safety issue I told my husband youâll get the ticket not them, so of course they donât care! He dropped it off in the morning being told someone would be there at 6:30 am to meet him he sat for a good 15 minutes waiting for them to open. You do realize that other people do have jobs and do need to get to work on time. The guy he met on Monday he said was rude, didnât apologize and was snarky. Iâm glad we will now know where to NOT buy our saws we need for our business or anything else in the future. This is our local hardware store we usually go to but after this I told my husband go elsewhere you shouldnât be treated like crap. Everyone says keep it local however I find local businesses to be more...
Read moreI was putting in a new ceramic tile floor in my bathroom and needed more mortar, so stopped in at this Ace Hardware to pick it up. They assured me that what I was using was not nearly as good as another brand of mortar they sold and I needed to buy that. This other brand It was much more expensive for a smaller amount but they reassured me over and over, so I trusted them and bought it.
After I'm halfway through the bathroom I notice on the label it says it's for small wall tile only, not to be used for floor tile.
So I go to Menards and ask them why this would have been recommended and they were clueless, as it was absolutely the wrong type of mortar for the job, and they told me to finish with what I originally had purchased.
Now, a year later, all of the tile I put down with the product Ace recommended is popping up, causing some to even crack. I'm going to have to tear it all up, buy more tile, and re-install the floor.
All this just so Ace Hardware could get a few more bucks out of me, even if it meant selling me the...
