I joined D1 for 1-on-1 sessions in mid-January of this year with the hopes / goals of learning how to strength train and to ultimately lose some weight. I am VERY much a beginner in my fitness "journey." Sydney F., my coach, is incredibly knowledgeable, knows where I am at physically, and plans great work-outs based off of where I'm at, and she builds from there! I have DEFINITELY gotten stronger over the past couple of months, and I have lost some weight! Although I do not participate in the adult classes, I see a wide-range of physical abilities when I am there, and the coaches are all very personable, friendly, and down-to-earth. I have observed many of the younger kids classes, and they definitely seem to have fun while working on their agility and athletic skills! For me, friendliness is a huge plus, as I am very shy, and I feel very welcomed here. If you're contemplating signing-up, I would definitely "take the plunge" and try it out! You will be SO happy...
Read moreI've been training here for over 6 months and I can say it a delight to be part of a gym that's more like a family. They offer classes and personal training. Though this is not a gym that you can come in and train unsupervised, the classes are intense but affordable. These classes give you everything you could possible need for your fitness goals.
They also train kids to be strong and althetic. I have watched kids have fun while learning to be athletic. They take good care of the facility so it's airy, clean, and well lit. Everyone here is friendly so if you are on the fence about coming here, just do it! Take that plunge.
If you want tailored programs to work with your schedule/injuries they can absolutely make it work for you. Have fun and you won't regret being part of the D1 family.
Pro tip: Ask for Tyler or Sean. They are super helpful and will answer any questions you have have. Thank...
Read moreShout-out to Tyler, Michelle, and the Coaches Morgan, Nicki, Larnell, and Cameron for their motivation and persistence at each of the Adult classes! I'm happy to announce I passed my ACFT (Army Combat Fitness Training aka PT test) this weekend for the start of the new fiscal year! Transitioning back to my civilian life over the past year has been a challenge juggling my full-time job and part-time drills. But the team at D1 Pittsburgh West keeps me on track with the energy at each class by learning new moves and developing more and more strength each time. Even if you're new to fitness and strength training the team is very accommodating to people of all levels. There's also fun activities they host that I promise I plan to attend! Keep up the...
