Tl;dr: The employee was rude and we left before entering because I felt we were profiled when we tried to enter.
In February 2023 we wanted to buy my husband a wedding band so we stopped here to look around after shopping at other stores nearby. My Latino husband had a baseball cap on and canât read English proficiently, he tried to open to door because he didnât understand the sign that had a long list of rules for âinsurance purposesâ to prevent them from getting robbed I guess. I was trying to stop him and explain it when this very rude female employee ran to the door and started blocking us and barking at him that he needed to remove/turn his hat around.
Which we would have had no problem with if she had been polite but she was not. I understand they want to protect themselves from robbery, I work in a profession where that is a constant threat myself and I have to ask people to remove accessories for safety often. Her attitude and demeanor was 100% the problem. At that point I said okay then weâll leave - because I could clearly see another female customer inside with both a hat and a mask on.
If youâre going to apply these requirements I believe they should be applied to all and at that point I surmised we were being profiled and didnât I want to give this store any of our...
Read moreSurprised this location doesnât have higher reviews. When my now fiancĂ© and I went ring shopping back in January 2017, they provided great service even though they were extremely busy on a Saturday. We went to several jewelry stores and barely got the amount of customer service at another store that we did at Brownlee. Especially Finks and Diamonds Direct in Charlotte were an extreme let down in comparison.
Melinda first helped us pick out the perfect ring. Once I needed to get it resized, they got to resized fast and had it cleaned. A stone fell out and it got replaced quickly as well. Most recently, I realized I was 4 months over my semi annual warranty check up. I was so concerned that my warranty would be voided but they inspected and cleaned my ring with no hesitation to sign off on my warranty. We had to run next door for an errand and they were closing soon and Melinda offered to run it down to us right before sheâs headed home. AMAZING customer service! I wouldnât recommend...
Read moreI'm just going to start with a 50 to 60,000 ruby ring and lo and behold brownlee Jewelers tried to tell me that it was not worth $1,000 after the woman in Rock Hill with red hair instructed her employee to put $1,000 estimate on the value of the Ring, when it was dropped off to be repaired.. I have the proper credentials to prove that my ring has been in the family for more than three generations and also she tried to tell me that it was a synthetic this is incorrect unless someone has swaped the stone. A gemologist is reviewing the stone this week... I also received a call from Myron in Charlotte threatened, telling me that they will proceed with legal action if I don't take my post down so therefore I have altered my post to describe the facts.. I have also been barred from The Rock Hill location. I feel as though I have been discriminated against. They need not worry because I will never step foot back in brownlee again and I highly recommend that no one ever going to...
