This is an update!! I came to town for the 4th of July, and my game plan was to drive over to SC to get some MoMo Donuts! I called on Tuesday to place a pick-up order, but my calls went unanswered! I was able to get in touch with them the next day an hour after the store opened! I placed an order for 2 dozen "assorted donuts" with a pickup time of 1 pm! I was driving from NC! After about 40 minutes into my drive, MoMo called to tell me that they only have a limited supply of donuts left, and the pickings were slim! I was still an hour away! After driving an hour and a half and through 3 rain storms, I finally arrived, and these are the donuts that MoMo managed to scrape together for my order! I'm very disappointed because of the fact that I called and placed my order at 7 am that morning only to be giving what didn't sell! And to make matters worse, they are now closed until Tuesday because of the 4th of July! I'm leaving on Sunday and headed back to Atlanta! I'll be the 1st to admit these donuts are the best I've ever had, but maybe it's time to let this one go! There is a life outside of a donut! #allgoodthingsmustcometoaend
I have been looking for that perfect donut since Sarah's! And I think I have found it! These donuts are the bomb! They have a clean taste! They are big, light, and fluffy! They don't leave a greasy aftertaste in your mouth or make you feel like you just ate an old dirty tube sock! Eating one of these donuts is like biting into a cloud! We drove 2 hours round trip from NC, and it was worth the trip! This place is so popular that we had to call ahead to reserve a dozen assorted donuts, which I'm glad we did because when we got there, the pickings were slim! And so are the prices! We paid less then twenty five dollars for a dozen assorted donuts! Now I understand why the person who told me about them told me to get there early! But once again, it was worth the trip and the experience! All I can say is I'm so glad that I live in Georgia or else I would be in big...
Read moreWent to Momo Donuts today. Here's my thoughts:
The shop itself is cute. I enjoy the green walls inside and the homey feel. There's not a lot of spots to sit at, as this place seems to mainly be designed for takeout. There are high chairs provided if you need them.
The donuts are giant. Definitely worth the price for the size.
The menu is displayed on the wall and is rather dark, so it's a bit hard to read. Since the shop isn't 100% done for operating, some items are not available. I wanted to try the Thai Tea; however, was given the response of, "We don't have it.... as you can see...". There was a gesture to show that the shop isn't ready for full operation.
My husband ordered the coffee and was quite disappointed that it wasn't anything special. The coffee tasted like gas station coffee. The coffee is self-serve and when he was getting it, the coffee ran out, so her had to flag down a worker to get more. Not a big deal, but someone should periodically check on how much coffee is there so that it doesn't run out.
I ordered a toasted coconut donut and my husband ordered a glazed donut. Since we only ordered 2, they placed our donuts in a bag. No napkins were in the bag, which I felt was a bit inconveniencing.
I was surprised by the size of the donut. It was huge. I could barely fit a bite in my mouth! When I finally did, I noticed that the glaze with the coconut was extremely sweet. Tasty; however, for my standards it was a bit too sweet. My husband stated that his glazed donut, "was good".
The workers were really nice and as it's only their 2nd day of operating I'm sure they'll excel in no time.
Here's a few things I wish they did: 1- place names near the donuts in the case, so that you know exactly what you're ordering if you pick based off looks. 2- Have a post somewhere if what items aren't currently available.
Overall, the shop is worth a visit and I hope that they're successful. (To me, a 3/5☆ indicates good, but could use some...
Read moreDonuts are huge! I've been waiting for a long time for this shop to open and I'm so glad it's finally here! I went today, NEW YEAR'S DAY, and was surprised to see the place open. I checked Google and the status was open, plus I called and a lady picked up the phone. There were only 2 workers in there so the line was backing up quickly. The donuts were custom filled upon request and drinks were fully stocked.
The donuts are humongous and the apple fritter is absolutely delicious. Please continue to keep your store hours current every day especially during holidays. Some people don't have Facebook, so maybe you can customize your voicemail to say what your hours are for the week. Also, it helps to have the open sign on possibly located where we can see it off DAVE LYLE so everyone knows you have fresh donuts available. The business is in an amazing location and the staff is very friendly and personable. We will be back.
These donuts remind me of Los Angeles donuts from the mom and pop shops run by Chinese owners. I wonder if you take special requests. I wish you had the cake donuts with vanilla frosting and sprinkles.
Please have a donut customer rewards program like buy 12 donuts get one free. Or a birthday club, or create a custom donut contest that will be featured for the month....
