Would not even give one star!
On Tuesday December 1, my iPhone 8 Plus started having issues with charging. The port was obviously loose as once the cord was placed in the phone, slightly lifting the cord; contact was made and the phone would charge. I wanted to get this resolved as soon as possible and decided to take the phone to a Batteries Plus location, however they advised the part was unavailable and that the existing port was not dirty or had debris.
Later that same morning I called a different Batteries + location and they said that they didn’t have the port either, but referred me to the CPR store, Rock Hill location.
Upon arriving at the store, I was told that the port could be repaired however it could be a multitude of other issues??? I was even told by the agent that assisted me that when he connected the phone to his charger in back, that a connection was made but only momentarily. I explained to him that the port was obviously loose and I felt confident that once a new port was added, the issue would be resolved. He went on tell me that it could be other issues with the phone such as hardware issue. That should have been the first red flag and the sign to go to a different store altogether.
I gave the phone number of my friend to get updates on the phone while I didn’t have a second phone, and he was advised before I got back to the store that the port had been switched out and they there was now a rattle and vibration issue with the phone.
When I physically got back into the store, I noticed the phone had a stronger vibration when unlocking the phone. The agent that initially assisted me said that if the vibration was annoying that I could bring it back and they could tweak it. In essence, my device was damaged in the port repair process.
15 min later and got home and noticed that the vibration sounded horrible and even more so when I had a friend call me; was really bad. I called back to the store, the sound of the phone was also different! The agent that I spoke with said that it was probably a damaged motor and that it probably something they couldn’t fix but a part could be ordered ?
I went back to the Batteries Plus location that I initially went to for a second opinion. It was a complete difference in customer service. The technician there went above and beyond to help me. He told me he had a idea of what the vibration issue was and did resolve.
But before I let the Batteries Plus Tech work on the phone, I went back to CPR RH and was told there was nothing else that they could do! Completely not owning the issue at all!
However, I’m glad pictures were taken of the inside of the phone before he started the repair. The Taptic Engine screws were stripped! I was also given a damaged port that partially melted into the phone also! Also before I forget to mention, CPR Rock Hill also installed a port that was a different color than me phone.
Now a few days later, I’m still having issues with the audio of my phone and CPR RH has done nothing for me, except cause unnecessary issues to my phone. The entire process customer service and repair and all was disgusting!
Will continue to escalate the issue until resolved because I should...
Read moreLast week I brought my sons iPad to cpr repair in Rock Hill off of Dave Lyle. It just had a small crack in the glass screen, as you can see in the video nothing was wrong with it. This was also verified by the employee when dropped off. I recieved a call later that day and the owner called and said he "did not use enough heat when taking off the screen so the lcd underneath broke. No big deal they were going to replace it. Yesterday I get a call and it was again the manager saying that he had deemed the iPad "irreparable" but not to worry I'll get my deposit back. This is when I began to ask for compensation for the iPad that he had admitted to breaking. His answer to which was it was not his responsibility to replace the iPad that his company and himself admitted to breaking. My son used this to help learn his shapes and numbers(he will be 2 in August) please do not use this company and if anyone has suggestions on what we can do to make this right I would really appreciate it. In the end its really not about the iPad but the fact that they broke someone else's property and they are not willing to replace it. I have emailed corporate and as of now have not heard anything back. Help us make this right for our son I'm disabled and my wife is a teacher so obviously we do not have the extra money. Thanks for any help.
Also he was very upfront about the fact that they broke the screen. Obviously they didn't try the 2 other lcd screens that said they did bc the original screen is still on as you can see in the pics. Then he tries to say it may be a bad motherboard. But how would anyone know this without taking the screen off. Do not listen to any of this man's lies. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING YOU OWN TO THIS PLACE. you will walk in with a working device and walk out with what you can see in my pictures.
Can't belive this place is still open with all the business they lost due to their negligence. POEPLE PLEASE READ ALL REVIEWS BEFORE VISITING THIS LOCATION. read through the lines he has friends and family trying to repair the damage done with reviews online. They completely broke a perfectly fine ipad. And took ownership of that but refused to...
Read moreI wish I could put zero stars. Do NOT bring any of your devices here. I never leave reviews, especially bad ones but this place is beyond terrible. I called a month ahead of time, asking how much it would be to fix my cracked iPhone XS Max and they told me a price that seemed fair. Me and my fiancé saved up for a month and came in with an envelope with exact cash. We dropped the phone off and left and conveniently, after they had taken my phone apart, they called us and said they didn’t realize it was a max and that it was going to be another $150. We were upset but went and got more money out. We picked up the phone and immediately knew the screen felt wrong, it felt like it wasn’t put on properly. The touch sensitivity also did not work at all. I was not told that there was a warranty on the screen so I figured I would just deal with these issues. Then after only about 3 weeks, the screen stopped working completely. I took it into the store and they told me that it was probably my fault and I probably dropped it so they couldn’t warranty it. We told them we would be back to the next day to speak with the owner. We came in at the time that we were told the owner would be there and of course, he wasn’t, but he “left us a message” with another employee who told us the same thing but that they could replace the screen for $250 this time. Overall, these people use poor products and do not put them on correctly and there is terrible customer service and management here. Also extremely overpriced. Do yourself a favor and take it to Apple, which by the way is...
