I really wanted a Therapy Hair Salon Rock Hill to be my long term salon. I consulted with a great stylist, we discussed gray blending my dark brunette hair and then I decided to commit to a long-term and large financial investment into my hair. My first āgray blendā appointment went great! This was the second time I had been to see the stylist. The compliments I received on my hair were unbelievable!!
For my second appointment, I did what we all need to do, work schedule was rearranged, child care put in place and wouldnāt you know, an exit sign fell into the freeway the afternoon of my appointment. My commute went from 30 minutes to one hour and I had 45 minutes to get there.
I called the salon 45 minutes ahead as soon as I knew and then again right at my appointment time. With much back and forth and pleading on my end due to this extraordinary and extenuating circumstance, I was told that if I was not there by 10 minutes after my appointment, I would be rescheduled. I asked for 5 additional minutes and was told no. My stylist was double booked after me, the next client would be late, and so on, was what I was told. So much so, I asked if she ever even had time for me anyway?!?
When I was rescheduled for a few days later with a different stylist, I asked if my original stylist would be there to at least consult with the other stylist to pick up in the process (IYKYK). The receptionist very curtly told me she would be here but would have another client, so she had no time to speak with me that morning (not what I asked, by the way).
Come the morning of my new appointment, the receptionist and original stylist listened to my feedback but certainly didnāt hear it. Not sure if I could have received any less disingenuous head nods and āoh, I am so sorryā lines. The final result of the conversation was that is the salon policy.
All this to say, I am most disappointed in my original stylist really for not having my back, her clientās back and making five extra minutes work. Offer not to dry my hair to gain the time, whatever! Instead I was a victim of āa policy she had no control overā (which is hard to believe, as she seems more influential than that based on my previous experiences, but what do I know, right?) She is an AMAZING hairstylist and artistic director, so it was sad It was made VERY clear to me how all of the other clients would be impacted (which I am not mad at the advocating for them) if they gave me five more minutes to get to my appointment after battling unforeseen traffic due to a highway sign collapsing. Geesh, my nerve!
I am a very loyal customer and also very reasonable when it comes to client experience and managing expectations. I felt like I was not valued at all as a client and I am so disappointed.
This post was not written lightly, but not sure if this is the salon for you if you are looking for reciprocated loyalty/compromise from your stylist, as they as they seem bound by very strict, inflexible salon policies. (Or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was excited to try this salon. When I called for an appointment for blonde highlights, I was told that I need to come in for a consultation before an appointment could be scheduled. This consult was free, and the appointment was set a few days after I initially called. The stylist kept asking me what I hated about my current style. When I asked what she recommended, her suggestion ended up being for me to keep my current style (color and cut). I have used the most expensive salons in Rock Hill, Fort Mill, and Charlotte, so I was stunned that the quoted cost for highlights and trim was double what Iāve paid elsewhere. I was given the Instagram of this āsenior stylist,ā and there werenāt many blonde styles posted, and they didnāt seem impressive considering the price. Overall, I found the receptionist to be friendly, the stylist to be not very friendly, and the price to be outrageous. No way Iām going to pay double for essentially the same thing I can get in other salons.
Edited to reply to the response from owner: This salon apparently doesn't have a "junior stylist." There isn't one listed on your website. Again, my point is if your stylist is simply recommending that I keep getting the same color/cut that I've always gotten in the past at other salons for about half the price, I see no point in changing to your salon. If your stylist was planning to give me something better and different, I would certainly have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI got my hair cut here today - I tried to like how my hair looked but as time went on, I realized I hated it.
I won't name the stylist who cut my hair, but she's a newer employee. She was super kind and I enjoyed talking with her, but she didn't listen to what I asked for. I asked for my hair to be cut at my collarbone - and I showed her where I wanted the cut to land twice - but my hair is a solid inch above my collarbone area. I noticed when she began cutting my hair that she cut too much off, but I didn't comment because 1) the damage had already been done and 2) I'm a fairly easygoing person and it's just hair, it'll grow back.
When the appointment was over with and I was back in my car, I noticed that one side was a bit longer than the other. It didn't look bad per se, it's an asymmetrical bob; but again, I didn't ask for that.
When I got home and inspected the back of my hair, I realized there were some longer pieces she missed. I had to grab a pair of scissors and attempt to cut those long pieces myself.
All in all, I'm very disappointed with how my hair turned out; I've never had this happen to me before, but it's such a bad cut that I now need to schedule another hair appointment to fix it. I won't be coming back here,...
