Five Below — Local services in Rockford Township

Wow! What a great new look since their remodel of this store. Very bright and trendy. A lot of items from cell accessories to kids toys. However they need to change their name. They carry several items over 5.00. granted it's 5.55 now but still, we all know 5 below to be 5.00 or below. When stores past have done this, this is when they phased themselves out of business. Items that I was picking up appeared to be 5.00 until I got to the register and it rang up more. The cashier was off towards the side near the front... Registers in plain view... And neglected to come help me ring out until her line grew with 3 additional customers behind me. I know she seen me. But I was not important enough to checkout until other people showed up in line. Then a second cashier shows up from the same location as the first and helps out. But why when their are two cashiers did the line have to wait until it grew? You upcharge us now yet your customer service has slipped. Wait...whaaaat??? Sad part is not a single cashier walked up with a smile or greeted a single person or said thank you at the conclusion of the transaction. I only observed all of this because after I checked out, I stepped to the side to wait for my friend to check out... Sad day when companies charge us more so they can profit yet spit in our hand as we hand them...

I tried to visit the Rockford, IL store today (6/15/22) at 7:20 pm. It was locked. All the lights were on, but I didn’t see anyone in there. The sign on the door stated it was open until 9pm as it is Wednesday. No other notes/signs were posted. I sat in my car until 7:35pm hoping someone would unlock the door. During that time 6 other customers attempted to enter the store only to discover the doors were locked. I’m not sure what is going on. This is very poor business management, and it’s losing you lots of customers. At the very least, a note could have been left on the door assuming an employee had...

Clean, lots of items & I only shopped in 1/2 the store! Would've given 5 stars, employees could've definitely been friendlier :( I asked 1 young lady where an item was & she wasn't very helpful, just pointed behind her & said "I don't know, maybe in toys". I chalked it up to store just opened for the day.
