I accompanied my friend (the bride) to her appointment. When we arrived the one person at the desk greeted us kindly, and asked what we were looking for. We informed her that the bride is getting married next year, and hadnāt tried on any dresses at all. We were also up front that we wouldnāt be purchasing a dress today, thinking that this would help set appropriate expectations - but I think what this did instead was give the sales associate permission to not assist us at all. She sat behind the desk, and pointed to each section and told us what was in each area. (When the bride made the appointment, she stated that she is plus size and would happily give them measurements - they stated that āIt would be fine, they had a plus size section.ā My friend wears a size 24 jeans, for reference.) The sales associate was aware that the bride had never tried on wedding dresses, which means she was completely unfamiliar how wedding dresses are sized. There was zero assistance given, or any interest shown in helping us sort through things or find things to fit at all. So, we pulled a few dresses ourselves from the 22 section. There was zero explanation about how to actually put on dresses or what the easiest way to get in and out of them would be. Wedding dresses are huge! And you almost always need another hand, which is what I thought a bridal shop sales associates job wasā¦? Anyway we tried on a couple of dresses that didnāt fit - and to be fair, they did have 10-15 dresses in clearance size 22. If youāre unfamiliar with wedding dresses - they run INCREDIBLY SMALL. We tried larger and larger sizes and not one fit. They also skipped sizes - they went from 28 to 34, and there was exactly one size 34 which absolutely drowned her. But, we were excited one dress could maybe be clipped up to show the shape. We had to rummage through the drawers in the dressing room to find clips, and figure out how to do it ourselves. The sales associate came by once and asked if we were doing okay, and I showed her which dresses didnāt fit and she put them back on the rack. Aaaand thatās it! Their āplus sizeā section on the floor (aka, the dresses on trend and in current styles) were exclusively 18-22. And just for reference, that equates to a size 12-14, which is the size of an average American woman. So they donāt actually have a plus size section, they have dresses for extremely thin women with one or two average sizes peppered in. Overall - completely disappointing experience to make an appointment with a specialty shop, to be rejected when offering your measurements up front, to be clearly treated differently because of budget constraints OR physical body size (it was hard to tell which, or maybe it was both?), and on top of everything - not one single dress in the entire store fit my friends body - from a shop that advertises they have extended sizes!! Humiliating at worst,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDO NOT GET A DRESS FROM COUTURE BRIDAL!!! I wish I could leave a negative 5 star review!
Hello, everyoneš I thought I would share with all you future brides my experience with getting my dress and WHERE TO NOT GET IT!!!!
Shortly after getting engaged (that next Saturday in fact) I went to get my wedding dress. After looking at several location I liked some of Couture Bridalās dress options. Sure enough I fell in love with the 5th one I tried on... but at the same time I wish I didnāt and this is why.....
I was told by āNicholeā the lady who helped me find my dress and so on that I had to have half my dress paid for by June before it could be ordered. I was told that it would be in at the end of August...
Umm..... hell no! I received an email saying it would be in until three days before my wedding and I flipped out. I immediately called full of anger... while I was crying my eyes out. I spoke to āOlivaā the manger and she informed me a mistake was made and I had to pay an additional $60 to put a rush on my dress. I was understanding everyone makes mistakes and paid it.
But wait.... they mess up even more!!!!
As I go to get my dress and try it on not only was it about 2 sizes to big but they gave me two different straps to my dress....
Thank the lord I am pregnant or I would have never fit into it!!! So a few days later Nichole calls me to inform me I have to pay $150 for the matching strap.... umm hold up I already paid for this why do I have to again???? Well it had to be special ordered and made. They are the ones who messed up they should pay for it. So after that terrible mess of yelling and and constant phone calls they agreed to pay it but I have to wait 8weeks to get it!!! However, when I got my package in the mail they only sent ONE STRAP!!!!!
They forgot to send the other one they kept to make sure they got the right oneš¤¦š»āāļø so here I am a few hours shy of 9 days before I get married (October 12th) and I still donāt have my dress done! Olivia done am over night shipment so hopefully all goes well and the poor lady doing my alterations can get it done. Bless her heart sheās had just as bad as a go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am not usually one to leave bad reviews, but here we are, and all thanks to the WORST customer service I have EVER experienced. Thank goodness I ordered my dress from another bridal shop. I came to couture after my alterations lady recommended them for ordering some extra lace for the straps on my dress (they carried my designer). I made an appointment and went in to match lace to my dress and get it ordered. The girl working was extremely nice and helpful, but after the first encounter the rest went downhill. I matched my lace and placed (and paid for) an order on June 17th and was told that it would be about two weeks for ivory lace to arrive. Two and a half weeks passed and I hadn't heard anything so i called to check on my order, and was assured that it had been ordered. Fast forward 2 more weeks and still nothing, so I called again and was told that it was behind schedule because the actual order hadn't been placed until June 30th (13 DAYS AFTER I WAS TOLD IT WAS ORDERED.) Yesterday (July 24th - over a month after I placed my initial order) I get a call from the shop saying that my order had been cancelled due to a miscommunication between the designer and the shop. HOW DO YOU MISCOMMUNICATE ONE YARD OF LACE?!? Especially after I had called multiple times to check up. I was told they could order it with priority shipping and it would be in in 4-6 weeks...my wedding is in 8 weeks. So thanks to this shop and the terrible customer service my dress will not be exactly as I was hoping it would be on...
