This is THE WORST "school" ever. They dont teach u nothing for real. The staff can do and say what ever to you whenever they want with no consequences. The receptionist is awful. Rude to students and clients. Very ghetto and always on the phone. teachers are nice but they cant do their best because of the people backing them.receptionist and director always getting services done on themselves during school hours (when theyre needed you gotta search all over for them and when u find them theyre getting serviced for free) Always out of supplies plus they buy cheap supplies. Alot of stealing goin on,no cameras. Kits are expensive yet full of cheap stuff...financial aid is very unorganized and rude. They will totally ignore your calls and emails and leave you sitting in the waiting area. They give times and requirement to be able to get YOUR REFUND. They will say you have to be at so many hours and all grades in to recieve your check...you meet the requirements and they still make you wait another month...why? Because they have a very high turnover rate. Students drop classes left and right or get dropped. Attendance rates are poor. Nobody liles to come to school. Ots no fun whatsoever. No help for stuggling students..some teachers will look at you fail and say nothing. Ive seen many students who has needed help and teachers talk about them to other teachers rather than giving that student a demo on how to properly do something. They do NOT CARE ABOUT STUDENTS! THEY JUST WANT TUITION! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY OR CREDIT! TAKE IT FROM A CURRENT STUDENT! IM GLAD I WENT BACK TO SCHOOL BUT I ABSOLUTELY HATE THAT I WENT TO DORSEY..LIFE WAS BETTER WORKING AT WALGREENS😔
Update
You better be a math wiz or you will cleverly get scammed out your money. My attorney and I been studying how they do things and his words “they sure are clever with how they do their scam” don’t be fooled. This is why they break up your refund checks into 4 checks. save your time money and a headache and go elsewhere
Also the salon floor equipment is all broken. Out of about 25 chairs 13 are broken. All 4 shampoo bowls leak water all over the floor (safety hazard) and the temperature of the water is from extremely cold to extremely hot. No in between. Then at least 4 stations can’t even be used because of the electrical sockets don’t work. You can have all this for $21,600...
Read moreI love Dorsey Roseville Academy very much!! From the 1st day I came to enroll I was treated with the utmost respect. Doug my admissions counselor was very informative and pleasant. I appreciated the fact that he wasn't trying to sell to me, he genuinely wanted to know what I wanted to do which was the Culinary Arts Program. Kevin in financial aid was always on top of things, which made the process very smooth.
The administration staff is always pleasant and willing to help when you need it. Mrs. Andrea Solomon is one in particular. Mrs. Solomon is very hard-working and easy to talk to. When I 1st met her she said, "Honey I'm your mom until you graduate, so just let me know what you need!" That meant so much to me!
Once I got in the program I knew that I had made the right decision. In the beginning I was very nervous but Chef Matt Schelling and Chef Russell Zampich helped me to understand that this is the best place to make mistakes...and boy have I made some!! These 2 chefs along with many others (chef simmons, chef j, chef kokenyedsi) has guided me along the way which allowed me to tap into my knowledge of what cooking really is. Cooking is so much more comfortable to me along with following recipes. I even got over my fear of killing a lobster!!!!!!!
Being an adult and parent trying to complete higher education is NOT EASY AT ALL!! But being here at Dorsey Roseville campus with such positive, encouraging and motivating staff and teachers makes it all worth what I came here for. I am proud to say that I've completed my 1st 12 week module with honors and perfect attendance and on December 19, 2019 I will complete my 2nd 12 week module with honors as well and I honestly can say I couldn't have done any of this without the help...
Read moreUnderstanding this is adult education in a multicultural environment where you are given the tools to be diverse, business minded, and hands on opportunities to allow your growth to be exactly what you make of it! Graduating from the school of beauty with both negative and positive experiences, I took everything taught and advised to me from my instructors and I left with clientele that I still carry today, I left with not only my license but continued growth in the field of Trichology (introduced by an instructor), I left with a sound business like mindset where as a stylist it is understood is not a regular 9-5 but an opportunity to touch a multitude of people who will pay for services whether you are good at what you do or not, I graduated being hired right in a dermatology office who taught me how to treat common scalp disorders. Dorsey school of Beauty as with any other organization has its ups and downs, but if you have ears to hear, and a mindset to grow and listen... you shall not fail in this ADULT environment. I loved my experience, my instructors, and...
