I am still outraged of the service I received from this particular establishment. Went there yesterday 01/29/2023 to celebrate my granddaughters 9th birthday, unfortunately this is where she wanted to go. My order was crab legs, red skin potatoes and corn of the cob. When the waitress brought my order I could not believe how it looked, it looked as though they scraped the bottom of the pot for the crab leg, the presentation of the food was horrible. I stated to the waitress that I could not eat this particular meal and to see if I could order something else, she went very quickly to ask and was told no, I ask to speak to the manager who's name was Edward and his whole attitude/demeanor was uncaring, all Edward continue to say "I cannot not cancel the order", so finally he added another small amount of crab legs to my plate, now mind you the plate that the waitress had brought me prior was still sitting on the table and had gotten very cold, it took 30 to 40 minutes to bring the crab legs out. At this point my group was leaving who had ordered many sea food boils in a bag, which at this point I did not get a chance to sit down with my granddaughter to enjoy her birthday meal. I am appalled of the manager behavior. I can across town to for this celebration and definitely was not trying to get a free meal. I offered to pay half for the meal I never touched. Edward the manager refused and I refused to except trash (food) being thrown at me that is not appetizing at all. I stated to Edward I could sit here the rest of the evening/day, I will not pay for something I'm not satisficed with, I even stated that he could call Roseville Police. I then stated that I would call the news media to put this place on blast. Edward jumped up and grab the extra crab legs with an attitude and said" fine, I will give you a discount I have other thing to attend to. The waitress bring a bill of $59 and some change, and then turns around and bring another bill for $70 and some change because she stated the gratuity was not added. As me and my husband began to leave the restaurant we were approached by another waitress to say we were 26 cent short. I have put my experience on social media, because if you cannot satisfy your customer and have this type demeanor as a manager you need to find another line of work to be in. The feed back I have gotten has not been good about this particular Hook and Reel. Never ever will suggest this...
Read moreService: I waited about ten minutes with six other customers before anyone approached me. Once I was asked to order, the waiter seemed focused on drink orders, and I had to interject to indicate I was ready to order. When my calamari arrived, it was left on the table while I was in the restroom and I had no utensils, which was frustrating.
Food: Calamari: rubbery texture and not accompanied by an appropriate sauce pairing. The pasta sauce felt like a poor match for the calamari. Crab boil sauce: the sauce was quite loose in consistency. Broccoli: noticeably undercooked/raw, which detracted from the overall balance of the dish.
Drinks: The Watermelon-tini was solid, with one order arriving with lemon and another without lemon, which was a minor inconsistency but noticeable.
Value: The overall experience was mediocre, and the price tag at $49 didn’t quite align with the quality and service.
Final thoughts: I don’t anticipate returning soon, though I might consider giving the cocktails another try in the future.
Suggestions for improvement: Improve table service responsiveness and ensure utensils are available at delivery. Align pasta sauce with seafood dishes and avoid overcooked or undercooked vegetables. Standardize drink garnishes to avoid inconsistencies. Pay attention to portion/temperature balance and pricing to better...
Read moreI dined in and carried out quite often but an experience when attempting to place a carry out order really rubbed me the wrong way. I called to place an order hands free, as I was driving on my way home and wanted to stop and grab dinner on my way there.. To my surprise when someone answered, I stated that I wanted to place a carry out. I was told"We're busy can you order online". I keep in mind that I have never had any experiences that haven't been pleasant here , so I guess I'll drive to the restaurant, place my order, sit and wait on my order. I get there and restaurant is not crowded at all and I see two staff literally waiting by the door.( Not my business ) I asked could I speak to the manager about having to place an order online when I was driving? The manager confirmed that this was him personally who told me on 10/03/24 ,around 8:30, that I could place my order online because they were busy. I could be reading too much into it but I'm not saying that to a customer unless it's absolutely necessary. I want and need your business to succeed. I'm not letting business slip away. Stating can you please hold or something would have been sufficient. Hopefully I'll get over this and comeback but not a good feeling after how much $ I've spent at this restaurant. We all have bad...
