I just wanted to share my experience which drastically impacted my holiday plans.
If you are looking for reliable boarding or doggy daycare services, avoid this place. They sent my 100% healthy dog home for no reason and left me scrambling for care and also out hundreds of dollars of unnecessary vet bills and travel rearrangements.
I dropped my completely healthy dog off and had a flight and trip planned when they called me 1 hour after drop off and said I needed to take her to the emergency vet ASAP. I was shocked and asked if they had the right dog. They told me she was coughing for “ten minutes straight” and needed to be checked for kennel cough and if I wouldn’t take her then their manager would. They acted like my dog was dying and I was so alarmed that I burst into tears and left the airport to rush her to the vet.
I called on my way there 45 minutes later for an update and they said my dog was still coughing (I 100% believe this was a lie.) I pick the dog up and… she is zooming around, wagging her tail like crazy, as happy as can be, and not a single cough. I could tell immediately that she was completely healthy. She had not coughed anytime before drop off either. I wasn’t even going to take her to the vet but I did just because of how insistent they were that she had coughed. Of course, the vet confirms she has no fever, no symptoms of illness, and is completely fine. The vet even tried her best to get her to cough by squeezing her chest and couldn’t make her. It js 2 days later now… Not. A. Single. Cough.
Maybe they had the wrong dog. My dog sometimes pulls on her leash and it makes her choke. Maybe that’s what happened but I don’t know how they could have gotten this so wrong. Or maybe she just sneezed and they exaggerated? Maybe they made it up because they were overbooked? I have no freaking clue. I am left guessing with no answers from them and no apology.
Be aware that if your dog breathes too heavily or drools, or maybe for no reason at all, you’ll get an alarming call about needing the dog to go to the ER and you’ll be left scrambling. I understand they want to be cautious but sending a completely healthy dog home for no reason whatsoever (not to mention, scaring me to death) is absolutely ridiculous. This place is the worst. I will never take my dog back.
My dog had gone to this place for years and many price hikes. I even stuck with this place when they made dogs sick because they were using a poisonous cleaning product. But this is the last straw. I highly recommend that you find somewhere else because they clearly don’t understand dogs or when a dog is sick or very obviously...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I recieved free baths from Alive After Five (Yay!) we got our furbabies washed yesterday and to say I am disappointed is an understatement. My boyfriend said he walked in and the place smelled like urine covered by an expensive "smell-good" machine. Personally glad I did not walk in, will say that is already a very unprofessional sign. My mom has worked in dog grooming herself and if a place is well taken care of.. that does not happen! There is simply no excuse for a place to have a covered up urine smell, especially a place that is supposed to handle dogs! Definitely should have that figured out. Now, for the baths. In all honesty, they smelled worse than before! I had to keep the windows rolled down due to the smell because it was literally hurting my eyes! I figured huh, that is weird. So I called the place and asked what shampoo and conditioner they use. The lady who answered the phone stated it was a citrus botanical smell (If I am recalling correctly).. Neither of our dogs smell like citrus or botanical, so ofcourse that was already weird to me. Not only that, but one of the dogs were covered in loose fur. I asked how they go about their simple baths and they stated there was no deshedding (Which I stated I knew was not apart of the bath, I was wondering why my dog was covered in lose fur and why that was not taken care of.) And to add, our collar was not given back when we picked our dogs up. Fortunately my boyfriend's dad will be back to pick this up. Regardless, it is obvious this location does the absolute bare minimum in taking care of their clients and their building. I am not here to be upset about the price, because of course it was free for me. Although typically when an establishment gives away free services, its to get business afterwards that WILL be paid for. I am super happy to see many other people are happy with their services, but I unfortunately will...
Read moreWe moved to Atlanta a month ago and was very nervous about having to find new boarding in a new city. Our three year old King Charles Spaniel has always been used to boarding with a family when we go out of town or for Doggy Daycare. I ran into the Puppy Haven Downtown Roswell on-line, read the reviews and decided to give them a try. Now a few weeks later we have tried both the daycare and boarding and I am beyond pleased with their service and care for the dogs. Ultimately, we decided that we will be living about 30 mins from their location and thought that we might need to try a place closer to our new home. We tried another dog facility and I (I'm very picky), did not have the experience and our dog, Finely even seemed different when I picked her up. The excitement that we say when we picked her up from Puppy Haven was missing. After much thought about having to drive further than we would like for occasional daycare and boarding, we decided that Puppy Haven is well worth it. We just picked up Finely from a two night stay, and she was beyond happy and very clean. They had even sent us messages with updates on Finely before I could even have a chance to reach out. Every time we take her outside for a walk, she cried to get into the car, and we know it's because she is anxious to get back to her friends at Puppy Haven. If you are looking for a safe, clean and place you can trust you should definitely try Puppy Haven. You will not be...
