If it were possible to give this place negative stars I would but unfortunately that isnât an option. Since I absolutely HAD to share this horrible experience I guess this is sufficient. We had to pay before we received any food which was odd but we decided to give it a try. It felt like almost immediately after sitting down our âwaitressâ (because she barley talked to us) brought out our food and at first glance the food looked pretty decent, I ordered a half rack of ribs, fries and coleslaw and my girlfriend ordered a turkey sandwich with fries and greens. From this moment on everything went downhill. My girlfriends turkey sandwich was EXTREMELY dry. The turkey had no flavor at all and there was no toppings like cheese or anything except two straggly pickles. But even the pickles couldnât give any moisture to it. On the other hand the greens were practically drowning in the juice which consisted more juice than actual greens. Interestingly enough her food wasnât even the worst thing on the table. My $18 ribs were beyond disgusting, they were SO dry and had absolutely Zero flavor. I remember before we started eating we said a quick prayer over the food and I think that may be the only reason we survived the visit. After forcing myself to eat two of the $18 ribs I took one bite into the third and I couldnât take anymore. After barely enduring the atrocious ribs I tasted the coleslaw and not to my surprise, IT WAS DRY!! I have never in my life heard of dry coleslaw but somehow they pulled it off, and on top of that the coleslaw didnât even a decent flavor. The only thing on that plate that I could eat was the fries and even those werenât very good. By the time I stopped eating I looked at my girlfriend and said I have to ask for a refund because it was completely insane that I paid $30 (in total) for the food and it was that bad. After receiving my refund for the ribs( since they only wanted to give me my money back for one meal because my girlfriend ate the fries) we started getting up to leave and as we were walking out the door I said âhave a nice day!â And not one said anything and we awkwardly walked out. Absolutely horrible customer service I wouldnât...
Read moreThis use to be one of my favorite places especially when I lived in Roswell. Owner use to always be there and the food has always been good. I went today for the 1st time in 10 years. The place has had a face lift and looks really nice on the inside. New updated menu board. When I went it was so old school the menu was an old school block letter board. Well now itâs a much fancier and much more expensive and I get that with the times. Food cost a lot more and I understand that. But, the prices have risen along with cost of goods. So I get that. What I donât understand is lack of value in the food I received today. My meal is $19.95 for a meat (brisket +2) and two sides (Brunswick Stew and Hashbrown casserole). When we were served our food my food came out on the same size plate my friendâs brisket sandwich came on. I got two slices of brisket. Thatâs right 2 slices. My friendâs brisket sandwich had more meat and it was $10. This was the most underwhelming plate of BBQ Iâve ever seen and for the price it was so disappointing. Donât get me wrong it was perfectly cooked and tasted great. Had this been a $12 plate that would have been ok. But, the fact this food was $22 just really let the air out of tires. There sides were pretty good, the Brunswick stew was tasty but again it came in a 4oz cup and then lastly there was the hash-brown casserole. This use to be my favorite side ever. I would go and just get a pints of this side. Today this side was mashed potatoes with cheeses. There wasnât a single hash-brown in this casserole. This was also a giant let down.
Positive note when I asked to see the manager and showed him the portion of food I received and said this was not worth $22 he was very nice and brought me two more slices of brisket.
Food is still good, the place looks nice, there just isnât value in the food. When I spend over $20 for lunch I expect a lot more food...
Read moreWas invited to try this restaurant with someone close to me. Since I had no plans of going via my own intentions, I had no expectations. Was just here to try a new BBQ spot with company.
1st off, parking situation is decent. There aren't many from what I saw but they're right in front of the restaurant and that's right off the street.
Next, the atmosphere. I'll be honest, you're not coming here for great atmosphere. I've seen worse but there's nothing here that stands out. Inside and outside seating was available when I was there but the interior was a bit ran down. Cushions on the interior seating, for example, were ripped on pretty much every seat. Not sure if anyone cares about that but figured I'd mention it. They have some signs and other decor and a few TV's to watch something.
Onto the main event, the food. Another unimpressive area. My company barely ate anything off of their plate (Pulled pork sandwich, French fries, and green beans) so take from that what you will. My plate consisted of sausage, brisket, french fries, and potato salad and the only thing even remotely good was the sausage. Everything else was mid or worse. And the lemons I planned to use for my tea remained untouched as they looked as if they were left out and uncovered all day. Folks were nice and service was good, no complaints there. Food came out quickly too but not sure if that's a good thing or not in this case.
To wrap up, I can think of at least 1 other place off the top of my head as far as BBQ restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive that's lip smacking good. This 1...
