I love Target, but I am a big proponent of being customer-centric. I and the other ten people in line to return an item did not experience good customer service today. The person at customer service made everyone wait in line while they called for help from a manager to help a customer.
I was behind five other people when I got there at 12:45 pm and waited 10 minutes for the manager to get there to help that one customer. At 12:50 pm, while waiting for the manager, I asked whether there was a way they could keep helping other customers in the interim, and the customer service person said they didn’t want to make the customer feel like she was being skipped. I assured them she would not be overlooked since she had to wait for management to resolve their issue anyway. I stated that making everyone remain to wait in line only made the line longer and was not a very efficient use of time. They continued to wait until the manager arrived at 12:55 pm and then went to another register to help others. They would say “I’m sorry” every time they would help someone, including me, when it was my turn. I told them that it was okay and that in those cases, it’s best to keep the line moving by politely confirming with the customer in front of them, ensuring it’s okay to do so. Nobody will say, “No, I want you to stand in front of me for as long as it takes until your manager gets here to help me, and I don’t care that the line is getting longer and people are having to wait.”
My return receipt reads 1:15 pm. Something that should have taken me 5-7 minutes to compete took a half hour of my time. The lady before me gave up and left the line thanking me for speaking up as she walked away.
To the customer service agent—don’t be sorry, do better, be better! A simple “Would you mind if I help other customers while we wait for my manager to assist you?” would have sufficed. Not being from that department is not an excuse.
To management—please provide additional training and cross training to your staff, helping them have some common sense and be assertive with their decisions and efficient use of time to provide everyone with exceptional customer service to all and not just the person in front of them.

Read moreI shop at target at least 2-3 times a week and spend between $25-$150 each time. I’m usually treated with respect and kindness. I have had 20 leg surgeries from a boating accident 5 years ago. My leg hurts constantly. Today I went in to the one in round rock, Louis henna, and I returned something that didn’t fit my child, and then went and looked at their $5 section and women’s leggings. I had a handful and no basket so I put it in the reusable bag I had had the return in. I was going to go get a basket and put them in and then continue to shop around. My leg was really hurting so I was struggling holding it. Before I could even stand all the way up from leaning over my leg and balancing the items I was trying to carry, a cashier rushed to me, took all the items, said he was “helping” and then said I’ll check you out at this register. I wasn’t even done and he was assuming I was trying to take the items I guess? I don’t know why because I was literally right in front of them and had no purse. I said I usually use self checkout to see my target app and check deals. He started doing them all for me and I said slow down. I’m paying two separate transactions. He was so rude and judgmental which you’d think he wouldn’t be. . He was maybe 20 and acted without any tact or respect, dressed sloppy and very unprofessional. He treated a person with disability with disrespect and 0 kindness or effort to actually help.he didn’t ask if I was done. Or if I needed help finding anything. If he thought I was trying to be sneaky he could have waited until I was by doors leaving, not right by employees near register . Before any negative action on my part he judged me. I’ve never stolen in my life. I will not be going there again. I never write reviews either. First time, but I’m...
Read moreUpdate: It has been a few years since I wrote that review and things have gone downhill in a major way at this location. They recently got a facelift and my boyfriend and I decided to check it out because he got a gift card to shop here and we felt like we might as well spend it. We went in the evening and it looked like we walked into a Ross where they were giving things away for free on a black Friday deal. Clothes and shoes and handbags in piles on the ground. Missing spots on the shelves where items should've been and were replace with something totally different (shampoo where there's supposed to be a bottle of salad dressing, candle where there is supposed to be ramen). It was just a mess from the time we walked in until we left. Then at the checkout there were two employees ringing people up and the self-checkout wasn't working correctly unless you had an employee scan their badge and exit out and press some buttons, and that's IF you can find them to flag them down because you need help. This location is a mile away from my building (The Warner) and my boyfriend and I are both in agreement that if we shop at Target again we'll go to the Stone Hill location in Pflugerville instead. Is it going to be three times as crowded? Yes without a doubt. Is it more organized and actually has more than 5 employees working at a time? Also yes, which is why it's worth going out of the way for and taking the 20 minute drive to get there.
Old Review - This is the only Target I've ever been to where the lines aren't crazy long and the employees are happy and smiling and helpful. Not to mention how insanely clean this...
