I called Majestic Beds after speaking with my friend that had a positive experience with them. After talking with the COO of the company I was convinced that I should give the bed a shot to help resolve some of my sleep issues. Little did I know, their return policy is not Risk Free and neither is the 60 day satisfaction guarantee. If you need to return your mattress you need to pay $150.00 or 15% of the purchase cost, whichever is higher. And 15% of the purchase cost is a lot of money that you basically will be throwing away if the mattress doesn't work out for you. That doesn't include the cost of the pickup and shipping fee to get the mattress back to their store.

Before moving forward with my purchase I was able to negotiate a lower return cost, and they said they would match Mattress Firms price for a return and restocking which was just under $200.00.

I felt confident moving forward that this would be an okay risk given the reputation of the company and their positive reviews. So I moved forward with the purchase. Through the purchase process they had me signing multiple forms, some which had some fine print. If you don't read through every detail and figure out what it all means, you might be in for an unpleasant surprise and more money out of your pocket. I agreed on a purchase price for the mattress which was supposed to include 2 free items, which was a mattress protector and a pillow. Apparently these were considered promotional items, which I knew nothing about, and when I went to return my mattress, I ended up having to pay for them out of my refund even though I never paid anything for them in the first place.

Apparently there was also a promotional fee for financing as well, which the owner of Majestic Beds wasn't even aware of. When noticing this, I spoke with him, and he agreed to pay the promotional fee that wasn't communicated to me beforehand.

I slept on the Solution 1 mattress for 2 weeks and had some of the most restless sleep that I have experienced in my life. After paying $3,899.00 for a mattress like that, I was eager to return it. Then to find out my risk wasn't just limited to the negotiated $200.00 return fee, but they actually increased that price to $225.00 without me realizing it and then charged me the cost of the pillow and mattress protector which was supposed to be free. Apparently the return fee was increased on the agreement that they had me sign after we agreed over the phone that it would be $200. I apparently didn't give much thought to the signed agreement and assumed that everything was written as discussed. Then I was responsible for putting a king size mattress in multiple mattress bags and a mattress box, and had to be available for whenever the driver could make it to pick it up.

In the end, I ended up throwing away $563.60, not including the cost of packaging materials to prepare the box to be shipped.

This was by far the worst return I have experienced in my life, and I would not recommend buying from this company if you are considering returning the mattress...

During our exploration of mattresses we were very impressed with the knowledge and willingness of Alan to spend as much time with us as possible to help us determine if this was the right one for us. Even after selecting Majestic he continued to help us understand the different options that are available to build the right mattress to meet our needs. He also made sure we understood the ongoing service should there be something that needs adjusting.

Actually sleeping most of the time (cats wake me up for feeding time). Taking good naps during day with the cats.

Wake-up without bilateral shoulder and hip pain that have occurred for years and have kept me from sleeping. Full length back injury causing chronic pain and debilitating muscle tightening up for days to weeks. At best now I can wake up rested with muscles mostly relaxed not tight. This helps me to move unrestricted.

No hard bar or wood in middle of bed horizontally. Bed is same comfort on all surface.

Feel cool to sleep. Not cold and not hot. Comfortable temperature throughout.

Using the frame to raise head of bed (HOB) and foot of bed (FOB) has helped with sinus drainage and CPAP and a better sleeping position. Find what height works best for you. Don't want to lay flat anymore to sleep. The CPAP pillow is perfect and unique. FOB raised a little helps with swelling in feet to decrease. Find what works best for you. There are many advantages to using a frame that alters your mattress HOB and FOB.

We have had to replace several other top quality mattress every 4-6yrs for breakdown in the center and sides of the mattress. We put toppers on them to get a few more years. But even through all that both of our backs, hips and shoulders were in pain and we had headaches and muscle spasms and tightness and it would take me 2-3 hrs to get comfortable to sleep. If you are having problems sleeping, it could be your mattress. This one is very reasonably priced.

Roberts comments: From my perspective, I am able to sleep on my back or either side and feel comfortable. I don’t feel the warmth as I used to. Normally able to sleep through the night whereas I would bet up at night. When I have some back pain during the day I can find it comfortable going to bed. Normally I don’t have the edge feel like it is too soft.

My wife and I met Alan at the "Outdoorama" show in Novi, MI. My old king size mattress was not comfortable for me. It was hot to sleep on, and I couldn't get a good nights sleep on it. Every morning I would wake up with a sore back. Alan took the time to fit us to the right mattress, and installation of the new mattress went as planned. Alan and his staff did everything as promised. Our new mattress was much better than the old one. It slept cooler and my back problems were much better. Several months later I received a follow-up call from Alan, which I was very impressed with. It is rare that people take the time to follow-up on clients to find out if all is well with their product and to make sure you are happy with your purchase. I told Alan that while this new mattress was 200% better than the old I still sometimes woke up in the morning with a sore back. He immediately went to work to analyze why this was happening. As a result of this analysis he took back the mattress, and customized it by added several layers of different density foam layers to it. This solved my sore back issues. My wife also loves it. Additionally, sleeping on the king size mattress my wife always needed more blankets then me so when she was comfortable I was hot, and when I was comfortable she was cold. The solution was to make our king size mattress into two twin extra long mattresses. It was done at the factory with new covers and everything. It was like having two new mattresses. The two mattress fit into the same frame, and we still sleep together. But now she can have all the covers she needs to be comfortable, and I am comfortable sleeping with less covers. An added benefit is that when She or I get up it does not disturb the others sleep. It was the perfect solution. Now we both sleep soundly, and I don't wake up with a sore back. Cutting and customizing the mattress took several weeks, and during that time Alan brought out a new mattress for us to sleep on. When work on our mattress was complete he brought out our customized mattress.
