Landmark Birthday Party/No Birthday Cake. I went into Smallcakes a few days before a birthday event to order a pretty simple cake for the birthday girls (twins) and was assured it could be done. The owner of the Royal Palm location personally took my order, helping me to decide on design, I chose flavors , and she asked when I would like to pick up. All of this was written on the order form as I stood there. Only to get there on Saturday afternoon, the day before the event, and for the person behind the counter to be looking for a cake that apparently was not made. When the order form was located, it was buried under several other forms and someone, in a different ink, had written in the wrong date - not sure why they wouldn't have used the number on the form to check first. To compound matters, I was told with a shrug that "all they could do was refund the money" and offer me 2 dozen cupcakes. If I had wanted cupcakes for the party, I would have ordered them to begin. Then the young lady further went on to excuse the issue with a "We're human. Mistakes happen" as she packed the cupcakes she believed were a remedy to this huge blunder by the establishment. As if she would be so unbothered showing up to pick up her order for an event and being told with a shrug, so sorry, we can't do anything for you. I will definitely not be revisiting Smallcakes, nor sending anyone their way. Next time I will definitely spare the time to head to GANACHE across town where there is customer care and attention to details and delicious...

SmallCakes is a culinary treasure! Fresh cupcakes made daily! It’s taken me awhile to actually buy a cupcake from this amazing locally owned and operated shop! I was greeted warmly by the owner, Tammy, who answered my questions on some of the choices. The store is spotless and adorable.. So many cupcake choices even ones for puppies! The hours posted now on the Yelp page are incorrect.. closed on Monday- they open at 11am Tuesday-Saturday and 1pm on Sunday.. I definitely have a sweet tooth but I only like cupcakes that have a filling! Yes, they offer a Coconut Cream Pie and a Boston Cream Pie Cupcake that has a delicious filling! I ordered the Coconut Cream Pie cupcake. I couldn’t wait to get home to try it! Absolutely the most delicious cupcake I’ve ever had! The cake itself was so moist and full of flavor. Not too sweet. The filling was creamy and custardy.. Bavarian cream at it’s finest! Light and creamy! Whipped frosting amazing! I literally ate it standing in my kitchen-never got to the table.. Fresh, moist, light, full of flavor and the texture was perfect! Cupcake Heaven! My only regret is I didn’t get 2 of them and a Boston Cream Pie Cupcake… definitely next time! I was literally mesmerized by the variety of cupcakes offered! Even Gluten Free! They also do custom cakes, wedding cakes and so much more… I’m definitely a fan and will be singing their praises for a long time! I highly recommend!!!! They are in the same plaza as Target!...

We ordered a custom Tres Leches Cake w wedding cake for my wife’s birthday. This was an actual cake it wasn’t served in a pan as tres leches usually is. I was so impressed as someone in the food business and a chef by trade for over 25 years. I have to say this was the best cake I have ever put in my mouth. I gave Tammy not an easy task, to make a wedding cake tres leches for my wife’s birthday. There was no “oh I can’t do that” or “we don’t do that” or “ the cake will fall apart” none of that. We got an “absolutely I can do that”. We tried 3 other places and asked for a wedding cake flavored tres leches cake and everyone said they couldn’t do it or had an excuse. Tammy executed the task w excellence. She was so sweet and really cared about our experience. She went above and beyond for us. It was seriously the best cake I have ever eaten. It was so good my wife and I put it back in the refrigerator after half of it was eaten and took out another cake for our guests and we ate Tammy’s cake for the next two days on our trip to Orlando.
