The staff was nice but their goal was to make the sell, I understand that. I wanted a good work boot and was told the one that I was looking at and liked would not work for me so I was directed to a different boot twice the price. I told the sales person I needed a "wide" and she said "I don't think so". The boot should feel like a strong hand shake! And they will stretch out. So I purchased these $230.00 boots and they killed my feet the first day. I took them back in. The original sales person completely ignored me but the person at the counter offerd to strech them them out. I led them for a couple days. I returned to pick them up, I also purchased some Mink oil. When I got home I wore them around the house and they felt ok so I waterproof them with the mink oil. I wore them the next day for work and I was in pain the entire day. When I went back in the original sales person was not available. The more knowledgeable sales person told me that I should have selected the "Georgia Work Boot", the one I originally wanted as a much better price. She wanted me to buy these boots as a back up. So in short I paid $230.00 for a boot that I can not wear and I now need to buy a pair for $110.00 that will work as a a back up. Never again will I shop at a local location. I've ben buying my boots for years from an online company that has a 60 day exchange or return policy. The problem is they discontinued the boot that I wore and I wanted to keep my money locally so I went there. We all work very hard for our money and to waste this amount really hurts. I did however purchase a set inserts for my old boots and they are working until I can get a pair the fit properly . Boots and Jeans in Ruidoso New Mexico is a very nice little store packed full of some great clothing. The sales staff were nice and attentive. I am frustrated that I was misled to the wrong boot. I should have went with my initial gut feeling and not listened to her. I don't like giving such a low rating in the stars but after all I did waste $230.00 dollars, for me that is a very expensive mistake.
