Overall this hotel is nice and so are the staff. I do have a couple of issues to note. First and foremost people leave their dogs in their rooms unattended to bark ALL DAY and the hotel doesn’t do anything about it. I understand it’s a pet friendly hotel, we stayed with our dog. Our whole hallway had dogs barking all day in multiple rooms. Secondly We had a serious issue upon arrival where the police had to be called. There was a guest who ended up getting kicked out. To make a long story short this guest was extremely intoxicated and had mental issues. The cops removed them from the hotel. That isn’t the hotels fault but I did feel the hotel staff should’ve called the cops sooner, I called them before the hotel did. They did handle the situation pretty well, but did not offer us any compensation for this disorderly guest threatening us. The hotel itself is a bit overpriced compared to other la Quinta hotels. The rooms are nice, spacious and the beds are comfortable. The tv has a good selection. The pool and hot breakfast is no more due to covid. The location is decent but the gas station next door is a little sketchy looking in my opinion, but we had no issues with it. The hot water in the showers is hit or miss sometimes and the fan doesn’t constantly run on the a/c. Overall would I stay here again? Yes because it’s one of the only pet friendly hotels in the city that is decent. The comfortable beds, good tv selection and nice staff make this hotel someplace I would come back. My kids really wanted to swim in the pool and reservations told me the pool was open, when it is not. That was annoying but I understand due to covid it’s not open. The little “shop” (if you will) of snacks downstairs is overpriced, but nice to have drinks and snacks available. The rooms have blackout curtains, a mini fridge and a basic microwave. I did appreciate those things. If we come back to this town again I may stay here again unless there’s something else new. My kids and husband liked it. My best advice to the hotel would be to tend to the fact that their hotel sounds like a dog kennel all day long and there’s dog poop everywhere out back. Oh and also the hot water issue in the bathrooms. Otherwise it was a solid stay. I can’t hold the incident with the disorderly guest against the hotel, it’s not their fault and they did their best to handle it. I did have to think about how I wanted to rate this hotel. I want to give it 3.5 or even 4 stars, but they have a few things to work on. If I could give 3.5 stars I would. I went ahead and gave 4 stars because the service was good and there is no pet fee. My husband said he would give 4 stars and the kids said 5 stars other than the disorderly guest that really scared them. Being one of the only decent hotels in the city (other than a ski lodge) I would recommend this hotel to family and friends since there’s not a lot to choose from, especially that’s pet friendly as mentioned. In case anyone was wondering there’s no pet fee, part of the reason why we stay at this hotel chain. So bonus...
Read moreIf you read the other reviews, there is obviously a problem with cleanliness. I gave it a chance since the review replies said cleanliness is of utmost importance. I thought maybe they had improved. My first red flag should have been when I walked into the room to an overwhelming stench of musty cigarette smoke. The room was pretty dirty. Stained sheets and towels, broken curtain that didnt close, exit sign on the floor in the hallway, toothpaste on the mirror. I still chose to stay, but the two nights I stayed, I woke up with new bug bites each morning, 6 in total. I decided I was not comfortable staying at this hotel, so I called the front desk 3 times and got no answer. I called the corporate number and spent 23 minutes on the phone just for them to tell me they can't do anything. I thought I would drive back to the hotel and maybe get some help there. I get back, pack up my things, and head to the front desk. I said I have one more night, but would like to leave as I have flea bites all over my legs. I really thought that would be enough for them to apologize, give me a refund for one night and we would all be on our way. To my surprise, the front desk woman said “no, I dont think so, can you show me your leg?” I told her no because I was wearing black tights. She says, “do you have any photos?” Again, I said no and showed her the best I could, where you could see the bites through my tights. She says, “Yeah I don't think those are bites. We just had the guy here a few days ago”. So it sounds like they are already aware of the fleas. I said, “I know I got these here at the hotel so it's either fleas or bed bugs, which would be worse.” She steps back to make a phone call and then comes out to say that I can't get a refund because its after 1200. BUT, if they had answered one of the 3 phone calls I made earlier or if I hadn't been on the phone with customer service for 23 minutes, I would have been packed up and gone before 1200. I cannot believe the attitude I was met with at the front desk. I said “I am only asking for a one-night refund. If you cant do that ill have to dispute this with my credit card company for the whole stay” She gave me a smile and said “you can go ahead and do that.” I really was being very nice so I dont know why she had such anamosity toward me. To top it off, when I got to my next hotel (which is such a relief because its clean), everything in my luggage had the same cigarette smell. Anyways, the front desk bug bite expert doesn't think I have flea bites, but I am 100% sure I have bug bites from that room. And since we can't agree, for future guests' sake, I will give the health dept a call and let...
Read moreIf you can choose to go somewhere else , please do. It wasn’t the MOST horrible experience but many things can use some improving.
Upon arriving and checking into our room you can clearly see the beds were made but the room was NOT cleaned. The middle nightstand was so dusty it was obvious it wasn’t even wiped down as my 1year old passed her hands by you could clearly see all the dust / her hand prints .
The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. It was soo dirty and there was visible hair in the drainage lingering. As a parent with a toddler who doesn’t take showers , baths are a must and I wouldn’t have dared put her in the bathtub with a tub like that.
I did make the front desk aware, she apologized and told me they have gotten many complaints abt this and had made her manager aware they couldn’t switch our room but told me the cleaners could come and clean, coincidentally the cleaning guy was upfront, was very nice and immediately went up to clean and wipe down the counters. For that I am GRATEFUL!
Key card didn’t work multiple times and my husband had to get new cards 2x while we waited outside our room door bc we couldn’t get in multiple times which was frustrating.
Walls are sooo paper thin we could hear everything everyone was doing in other rooms thankfully we sleep with rain sounds on and a sound machine so it drowned out some noise. But it definitely seemed the bottom of the doors was also open and high leaving a gap from the ground up to the door & could clearly play part in why we could hear everyone’s business even being in our own room.
Breakfast was a good spread but eggs were so burnt most days that I had to pick through the tray to get my kids a good scoop of eggs.
BIGGEST ISSUE OF ALL. Our room was not cleaned ONCE during our 4 day stay. It 100% seemed like they were short staffed and we didn’t even have the “do not disturb” sign up for our room NOT to be cleaned. It was very unfortunate and gave them time away to clean but it wasn’t done. By day 3 there was no point as we were leaving next day but we did accumulate quite a bit of trash, ran out of towels by the last day and had no toilet paper by day 3, thankfully we had our toddlers wipes to use.
Overall the staff was not disrespectful but i would never come back here again. If I’m paying for something I would expect a bit more attentiveness and...
