Two night stay in this large room with one king sized bed. Has microwave and large minifridge. Can put a one liter bottle standing up in one spot. Room to lay down more large bottles, plus other things in the three shelf large minifridge. Has a tiny freezer section.
Coffee maker and coffee.
Lounge chair with large foot rest. Desk with office chair.
Four lamps have electrical outlets in them, convenient for charging camera and phone.
Three drawers for clothes. Closet has several hangers, luggage rack, shelf, plus ironing board.
Sink has hotel soaps, shampoos, good hairdryer, great lighting. Usual hotel hand towels and washcloths.
Bathroom has hot shower with bathtub combo. Overhead heat lamp if needed. Good lighting.
Toilet is an American Standard. Lower to the floor than my toilet at home. If you are elderly, ask for a bathroom with a higher toilet. Younger people should be fine with it.
Everything is clean. Housekeeping came today while I was out and replaced the used towels and toiletries. Did not touch my things.
Wall color is yellow and burnt orange (I prefer cream colors.)
Flat screen tv with Direct TV channels.
Wall heater/AC works fine and not noisy.
Nightstands on both sides of the bed.
Comfortable, roomy King room. With my AARP card it is $69.50 a night, plus about $9.50 tax.
I booked in person at hotel, after inspecting it in person two days earlier.
The rooms open to an indoor hallway.
They serve a hot breakfast in the morning which I'll have tomorrow (nothing by mouth today before surgery.)
Fitness room with treadmills and weights.
Big luggage carts. Very helpful.
No Gideon Bible. Instead a Hindu scripture book is in the nightstand. Owners are Hindu, from that part of the world, likely from India but could be from elsewhere near there, now living in America making their American Dream. I'm pleased for them.
This is a two star hotel. Not four star. For two star, it is a good choice. If you need a hotel close to the hospital as you have an outpatient surgery where they don't want you to drive afterwards, this Ruidoso Mountain Inn is a good choice. I likely will have more hospital procedures and will book this hotel again. A large, clean, comfortable room is just what I need right after day surgery. Pleased...
Read moreIf I could give -5 stars I would. Stayed here this weekend and will never in my life stay here again. As soon as me and my fiancé checked in Saturday night we had noticed the room was not cleaned at all. There was candy on the floor next to the bed, the desk chair had dirt stains on the handles, the conditioner from the last people who stayed there was still on the tub fossett, and there was hair on the blankets underneath the comforter. We were in total disbelief, we paid $200 for two nights for the most disgusting room ever. That’s not even the worse part we are in the middle of a pandemic, you would think that will all of this going on in the world right now with covid-19 they would be extra clean and care for the people staying there. They do not care at all. They did not come and clean the room once for our whole stay there, they did not take out our trash or bring us fresh towels. The television only had the first 15 channels which were all in Spanish so it was impossible to even sit and watch anything on there we had to watch Netflix on my phone just to enjoy something to watch before bed. The bed was okay but the sheets and blankets felt like hard plastic and the towels as well worst feeling ever. When I called the front desk to ask what time they stopped serving breakfast the guy responded by saying “uh we don’t really have anything but 10am is when we stop” so breakfast was out of the question as well even though with all we had already seen we were not about to go eat anything they had. Overall worst stay I’ve ever had, and I’ve stayed in some cheaper hotels nothing like this. Do not stay here it is unbelievably disgusting and...
Read moreThis hotel is a prime example of having a great property (nice building - concrete floors and quiet rooms) and tremendously convenient location. For some reason management simply doesn't seem motivated to keep the place up. First red flag is the reader board out front. Has been missing letters for months. Spa and pool were advertised, but both were inoperative during our stay, which is understandable. That said, NO efforts to re-stack the patio furniture strewn about in the windstorm months back. Also, LOTS of shady characters wandered the hotel outside areas, lobbies, all night long - very rough and tumble folks. It's a miracle our car wasn't broken into. Breakfast area smelled like smoke and food looked disgusting. Note the manager lives in room 100 and the whole 1st floor place reeks of curry 24/7. Room condition: they must have somehow acquired good mattresses, because that and the TVs were the only saving grace (beds very comfortable and TVs were modern). Rest of the room was extremely worn and disgusting. We were glad we brought a can of Lysol along, since many surfaces were sticky and clearly hadn't been cleaned in years. Wallpaper has been painted over and is peeling off. Ruidoso is an interesting place. At one time the downtown area was run down but has vastly changed for the better over the years and it's nice place to be. Now it seems the areas on the outskirts of town are in a bad state of decline. The place has good bones, and the right person could turn it around. Here's to hoping someone...
