Horrible experience! Very long but worth reading..
We visit Ruidoso every other month & because we were only able to stay for one night, we had no choice but to stay at a hotel. Outside of Ruidoso, we've stayed at several Days Inn and NEVER experienced such horrible service as we did at this location (26150 US-70, Ruidoso Downs, NM 88346). Placed our reservation online, putting in a special request, which was to get a room on the first floor due to medical condition (me) & my wife recovering from knee surgery. As instructed in the past at other Days Inn, we call this location to ensure it could be accommodated & were told that it would & ensured our booking was on the first floor. Checked in next day & was given a room UPSTAIRS. My wife politely explained the above. The gentlemen (black hair with glasses) was very rude, unsympathetic, acknowledging he saw the notes but gave our room to someone else; ",we're really busy." He had the type of attitude of 'take it or leave it.' It took a lot of back & forth to at least get a room close to the stairs. Thankfully my sons & another guest were there to assist me up the stairs. Day of check out: We called requesting extra towels, being there was only 3 & there were 5 of us. The front desk, very old lady w/a hand brace & dyed blonde hair, was not only was rude & gave my wife attitude, but questioned why it was needed. I've NEVER had to at any hotel we've ever stayed at. The front desk employee, same old lady, brought up the towels, my son said' "thank you" & her response was, points finger in his face "You better not forget or lose the room key; you'll need it to check out!" That was the rudest "thank you" we've ever received. Free breakfast .. don't even bother. Asking the same front desk lady for ANYTHING was treated as a major inconvenience. There was no batter for the waffles, coffee ran out, fruit baskets were empty, & only 1 bagel, which we got there at 9-930am. When asked, we got attitude, sighs, and rolled eyes. She had the gull to tell one of my sons, "if you want this you're going to have to help" and tossed coffee refill box at him. We have NO problem HELPING but we were TOLD and expected to do it ourselves.
My 14 yr old comment summarizes how we felt' "dad, we should've just slept in the car or...
Read moreWhen we entered the room on a warm evening, the TV was on and the air conditioner off. We turned off TV, but it kept turning itself back on every half hour, until we had to pull all the plugs to keep it quiet.|There is only one bin-like drawer in the whole room. All other storage is open shelves. There is no closet, no hanging bar, no clothes hangers. There is an iron and ironing board, but the only place to hang your neatly pressed garment is on one of three wall pegs.|There are no towel bars except the one below the storage rack above the toilet; none near the sink.|The free breakfast is not for the gluten-free, unless you can make a complete breakfast on yogurt and apples. The only hot breakfast is sandwiches you nuke yourself or waffles. One morning all muffin/bagel/sandwich bins were empty and the coffee and waffle makers were not working--while the clerk in charge of supplying the breakfast room was sound asleep at the front desk.|The "hot tub" is tepid; I had no desire to return to it.|The parking lot is very crowded and inconvenient because it is shared with a popular restaurant. Ground floor rooms do have parking at the door--when restaurant patrons aren't in your space.|Overall one of the most inconvenient motels I've ever occupied. I do...
Read moreWe came into town and decided to stay here. Made reservations through a third party. We were greeted at check in by the receptionist. The owner came out and welcomed us. He asked us for our email, to send promotions, which I gladly gave him. I’m always looking for special deals and promotions. We got our room and passed a soda machine which we would later come back to. The rooms are beautiful and even give Inn Of The Mountain Gods a run for their money. After we got situated, we went to get a soda from the machine. Unfortunately it was out of order. We went to the front office to ask if there was another machine. The manager came out and asked what kind of soda we wanted and gave them to us. I know it was just a couple of sodas, but you don’t find Customer Service like this anymore. I will continue to stay at this Hotel from now on! I highly recommend this Hotel to anyone and everyone planning on staying in...
