I bought this Tilley Hat at Parts Unknown on/about July 8, 2003, just over 20 years ago as of this writing (July 18, 2023).
This hat has accompanied me to most states in the United States and three provinces of Canada during the last 20 years. In addition, this hat and I have been to the United Arab Emirates, Georgia (the country), and several countries in Europe (in fact, I just washed it in a washateria in Lucerne, Switzerland). It saved my bald head and me from heat and sun stroke several times, including June 2021 in the UAE (the heat index in the sun was about 140 degrees Fahrenheit) and just last week in Italy (the heat index around 130 degrees Fahrenheit).
