The Village Buttery justified my entire visit to Ruidoso. The place has a nice shade to combat the scorching New Mexico heat, and it gave the place a nice vibe. One of my favorite parts of the location was the nice view of the luscious woods and the various things plants growing there made it feel even more homey. I ordered the Tavern Ham Sandwich and a Basil Soup. The ham and lettuce were nice and cool, but I unfortunately couldn’t really taste the cheese. The soup was the highlight being rich and creamy, it was flavorful and I found myself occasionally dipping the tasty chips into the soup. All of the bread here was home made and it shows I’m the best way possible. The service is kind and friendly and they are walkways willing to make adjustments for my party. For the desert I ordered a butter cream pie, as soon as I took a bite I was instantly transported to a fluffy and savory paradise. Do not skip desert here.
If you are taking a trip to Ruidoso I urge you to visit this family...
Read moreWe are fulltime Rv'ers but still work in Texas. We took the summer off to get out of the heat of Texas. Our first time in the village in 41 years when I backpacked the crest trail. Lots of restraunts in town and I believe in the 3 months we were here we hit them all. BUT the best one... the one where the food is fresh and the people are so nice and has a warm and friendly feeling is The Village Buttery. The menu is soups, salads and sandwiches and homemade desserts. We tried a variety of just about everything. Nice patio as well as inside seating. They keep it clean inside as well as the patio We love the place. Skyler and the rest of the crew really make you feel welcome. Tomato Basil and 1/2 sandwich. Soup is warm flavorful and creamy, Fresh breads....
Read moreThis place is simply great! Come for the food - stay for the atmosphere.
We had an albacore tuna salad sandwich, roast beef sandwich, caesar salad, tomato basil soup, and grilled cheese sandwich for lunch. Dessert included chocolate mousse pie and cotton candy cheesecake. None of it disappointed.
The staff was a lot of fun and very interactive. They created such a positive atmosphere were very attentive. The food came out very quickly.
The only negative is that the dining room is relatively small, but I think they were working on resolving that because they had a contractor that looked to be doing some work outside.
Overall, we've marked this as a favorite we'll certainly...
