I live and work in Ruidoso and have had work done at SBM for a long time. In the last 18 months I've watched the quality of the service department nose dive. I made an appointment several weeks ago to diagnose a metal on metal grinding noise in the front end of my truck. I even drove my truck around the lot with the mechanic and pointed out the grinding noise. The first day they had my truck the first mechanic said it was definitely the differential going out and that the inside shoulder of my tires were woren but they were going to have another mechanic take a look at it the next day. At the end of that next day after calling to check and see what they had found, that mechanic wasn't even willing to diagnose it until I replaced the tires on the front end. The tires only have 8k miles on them. So after two full days on their lot the only thing they did for me was an oil change....I would've been better off taking my truck to Jiffy Lube. I tell them I'm about to take a 500+ mile trip this week and they tell me when I get back they will put it up on a lift and tear the differential apart and see if it's busted...what have they been doing with my truck for 2 days??? I went and picked my truck up at 1600 that day and drove it home. It took me all of 10 minutes on dodge forums and YouTube and I was able to go crawl under my truck and discover that both my CV joints are busted and rattling. I sent a video of me shacking the rattling CV joints to the service department at Sierra Blanca Motors and they replied, that definitely needs to be rechecked but we won't have anybody that can do it for 6 days. I took my truck to Home Town Tire this morning, the day after getting it back from Sierra Blanca Motors. Hometown called me within a couple hours and said both CVs are bad and had a quote for me and a timeline to have it fixed within 36 hours. They also said they checked the differential and it was in good shape. As I mentioned I've noticed the Sierra Blanca Motors service department take a nose dive recently. The last time SBM worked on my truck was for exhaust manifolds. I made an appointment several weeks out to get the work done. I told SBM I absolutely had to have my truck back by a certain date, that's why we scheduled that appointment when we did. They told me bring my truck in the day before so the manifolds are cold and they can get to work on it first thing in the morning and it's absolutely a one day job no worries. Two days later I finally chase down answers from them and they were working on the manifolds but also got busy doing safety recalls on my truck that they didn't tell me about. I remind them that I told them, and they agreed that I had a deadline to have my truck back to me. Sierra Blanca Motors needs to get their...
Read moreWe called on a Tuesday to set up an appointment for Thursday. I knew the exact car I wanted to look at and they were aware of that. Thursday, we got there and they said they were waiting on a tire to be replaced but if we bought the car that day it would be ready. We bought the car with the usual run around and stressful negotiation from the pushy salesmen and of course after the papers were signed we were told the tire didn't arrive but they would deliver the car the following day. On Friday, no one called me so I around noon called them and the tire didn't arrive but they were to call me the following day. Saturday, no one called so I called and the tire had arrived but now they were waiting on a replacement part for the dash-which no one told us about before signing the papers- so they were going to call on Monday with an update. Monday, again the salesman didn't call me so I called to talk to the sales manager who assured me that he would call me Tuesday with an update. Tuesday, no one called so again, I called and of course the sales manager was then on vacation. I finally talked to the owner and demanded that my car be delivered that day and for them to ship the part to us. The part we were waiting 3 days for was a replacement dash that my husband easily installed when it came in the following week--they didn't need to keep my car to wait for it. The hardest part about this experience was the lack of communication from the salesman and staff. I understand that they have to wait for parts but the decent thing to do would be to call me and not make me wait to call you to see what was happening. I love the car but there is no way I would use this dealership again. There was one salesman who was helpful toward the end of this experience but I would drive further just to go...
