Yes it is on the side of a mountain. We were told by the manager when we talked about the site that we didn't have to stop at the office, just go on to site 34 on Avenue C. We found out later that the reason we just find it on her own is because there is no manager on duty and during our stay we never saw anyone at the office. We were in a 40-foot motorhome pulling a car. What a nightmare! The roads are dirt and very narrow and can be steep . We had to stop and unhitch the car at the top of the hill because there was no way we could make the turns plus we couldn't find our site. Unhitching on a hill was not fun either. So I would recommend unhitching your car at the bottom of the hill and drive up first to look for your site. Luckily we found a full-timer who was out walking and he was a big help. Finally we found it and my husband was able to pull in. Opening our slides was also a challenge. There is probably only 2 inches of space between the slide and a tree. We had to steal a picnic table from another site. There are not tables on every site.| My husband used the shower and would say it was only average. He said shower was fine just everything was a little rusty.| The location is good, off 70 just...
Read moreOn January 28th 2017, I stopped by the Pine Ridge Campground in Ruidoso to check on the possibility of a monthly rental. At that time I was able to speak with the camp hostess for about 10 to 15 minutes and obtained the following information.||||While public showers and a bathroom were promoted on the website they were actually closed. The monthly rate for a space was advertised on the website at $300.00, but the camp hostess indicated the fee had been raised to $325.00. Their website stated that satellite TV was provided but the camp hostess said it was not available at this time.||||Discussing the WiFi internet, the camp hostess told me that it slows down noticeably in the summer when they have more guests. It wasn't that fast to begin with during this slow season. When I ran a speed test, it delivered just a little more than one megabit per second downstream. ||||The camp hostess was quite cordial and I left with the impression is that it is the owner who is responsible for these decisions, not her. ||||Not bothering to update this information to the public is bad business, in my opinion, and for this reason I will be looking at other places...
Read moreTight rv park situated on a hillside right in Ruidoso. As such, the rv next to you on the higher ground is generally 2-4' above you. Pads are small and not level. The site has some permanent small cabins and rv's that are in for the summer or extended periods. It is not an easy park to get into or out of. If you have kids, there is nothing for them to do.||That said, super quiet, friendly owners and much nicer temps when compared to Roswell or other non-mtn parks. Bathrooms are modest, but very clean. As most people are there for the entire summer, or longer, we never had anyone else use the bathrooms. If you're trying to beat the summer heat, it's not a bad choice. 5-10 min to...
