Review for Paragon Security Team at Sacramento MEPS (09/05/2024)

On the morning of 09-05-2024, I encountered two guards at the Sacramento MEPS who refused to let me in for my scheduled appointment.

Their first excuse was that I was late. I explained that I observed a line of 100 recruits and decided to wait in my vehicle until there were just 6 remaining. It took 30 minutes for all but 6 recruits to pass through the guard station.

Their second excuse was that I did not stand in formation for "Safety Brief." I clarified that I had been to this MEPS location before, was familiar with the brief, and had already read the "Safety Board" posted in the window. Despite this, the guards continued to reiterate their second excuse.

When I asked them to provide the policy or procedure that mandates recruits "stand in formation for the Safety Brief prior to entry," they dismissed me and told me to reschedule my appointment through my branch.

These guards should be reprimanded for dereliction of duty. They are doing a disservice to the United States Armed Forces by unnecessarily delaying the enlistment process. A simple 60-second refresher of the "Safety Brief" could have easily avoided this situation.

On another note,

After being turned away, I contacted my branch advisor inside MEPS for assistance. He informed me that he could not come out and help get me in.

Not as bad of an experience as I thought it would be! The staff in medical are actually secretly nice people especially this one lady with brown hair that took our blood pressure and drew our blood, very understanding lady. Certain people seem grumpy but it’s really not that deep just say yes sir yes man and that’s literally it, you’ll be fine I promise! And I was a nervous wreck for this all week. The medical interview wasn’t even bad AT ALL I had a good time at MEPS just very tiring at the end of the day, on the shuttle right now back to my recruiter station...

All of the medical and testing staff were super nice and respectful but one of the members of the army team was very rude and disrespectful to me when I want to think about it and walked of and started talking shit about me even tho I can here him then he told me I can leave and then told my recruiter I just got up and left like I was not told I could go lucky my recruiter was cool and I talked to him about it and he fully understood what happen and he letting me go at my paste but everything else was great from the hotel to the rest...
