Great spot! I visited for a soft opening, and even though I'm not a beer person, I will definitely be back. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, helping me to find a beer I actually liked. With the cold weather it was pretty packed inside, so my hubby and I found a table outside. The DG flooring had some puddling, but everything else looked great! They have fire pits with seating around them, a grassy area for your furry friends, and those large gas heat lamps that actually put out enough heat to keep us both warm; it was both spacious and cozy. They had some cornhole boards out which a young family was having fun utilizing nearby, and with the family-friendly vibe I wasn't surprised to see a few other couples with young children there as well. They have additional "bicycle parking" in the back, which is a neat environmental (and very "downtown Sac") touch, but I was glad that with the slightly "out of the way" location I actually didn't have trouble finding some street parking fairly close-by. I'm excited for the grand opening and definitely...
Read moreHere is an informal setting with both indoor and outdoor seating to whet your whistle, grab a brewski (or twoski) and sample some goodies from a rotating lineup of food trucks. (Their website will tell you who is there on what date)
Dogs are welcome, and people bring their kids as well. If you fancy a slice of pizza, they've partnered with Luigi's to offer you cheese or pepperoni.
Their tap list boasts local talent such as Knee Deep and Moksa, but you can also find some special out of state brews, too. To their credit, Sacyard's tap list tends to be well rounded, boasting beer styles from pilsner all the way to stouts. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, quick to offer recommendations based upon your preferences.
If you're a craft beer junkie, this is a place you should know about and frequent.
Not big on beer? That's okay! You can also grab wine, soda or hard kombucha!
If you haven't checked out Sacyard yet, give them a try! The relaxed atmosphere is really...
Read morePretty cool for a brew house, inside area is well laid out. They have two bartenders on opposite sides of the bar (people tend to congregate by the left side so the one by the bathrooms has typically a shorter line). Service is fine unless it gets busy and then it starts to drag. Some of the bartenders are really on the ball others not so much. You can order a very limited pub menu at the bar and they typically have a food truck on one side. The have plenty of bike parking and some outdoors games. The real killer for them is that the out door area is like a furnace on even moderately hot days as they only have limited shade. The misters help but only in the shades areas. Just watch people for a bit and they are all clustered in groups in what shade is available. So most of the open space is only occupied occasionally and not for long if it's sunny. If they had a sun shade covering the entire outdoor space then a...
