My family and I attended opening night of "Home Alone" on November 18 at The Trail. As this is one of our favorite movies of all time, coupled with the nostalgia of an old school theater, we had high hopes for an enjoyable event. That did not happen.
The theater was sold out and space was very limited. We were sent away from the concessions counter 2 times (30 minute time span) due to the staff not being able to keep up with popcorn orders which also led to a delayed movie start time. Two of the staff members behind the counter helping customers were extremely rude, short, and aggressive. The woman manning the popcorn station, who also appeared to be a supervisor or the one helping lead the shift, was absolutely horrible. Degrading the other two staff members at the counter, constant comments about people ordering too much popcorn, and more specifically extremely rude to my wife when she asked about dietary restrictions. On the third visit to the counter to finally get popcorn, the employee openly talked about our family making us feel as if we were a nuisance which also did not sit well with us. We were told an industrial sized popcorn maker was on order so that part may not be an issue in the future.
The seating is exactly what it was from the '90s (not the current stadium style seating in modern theaters) which is fun to think about but actually not practical for children or smaller people that sit in a row behind a larger or taller individual.
The picture and surround sound was very good so that was the only positive side.
Definitely a neat establishment but we WILL NOT be returning, along with several of the other members from our almost 20 person party, due to the way we and others were treated. Hope the owners take a hard look at their staff and consider our review to help future events. I personally would recommend skipping this experience for the local Regal option...
Read moreTook my daughters to see Coraline. It's been their favorite movie for years. So glad The Trail has opened back up, as I have fond memories of going with my family when I was a child and now I can continue the tradition. The theater was full, but there was no wait to get in, and there was a small line for concessions which is to be expected on a Friday night. Concession workers were friendly, and even offered a booster seat for my smallest child so she wouldn't be stuck behind an adult unable to see (definitely a good idea to provide these so thank you!) We were about a block away from the theater when my daughter realized she set her phone down by one of the posters when they posed for a picture, but thankfully one of the workers noticed and picked it up, and answered when I called to try and find it. Long story short it was an entertaining night, and we will definitely be back to enjoy more...
Read moreWe have been taking the kids/grandkids to the family showings. We also attended the sold-out Home Alone showing. We love everything about this theatre - the size, the various snack and drink offerings, the employees, and yes, the seats. Responding to the very negative review of Garrett Matthew’s, posted here: I am sorry you perceive your experience as negative. This is a specialty venue. If you were looking for a stadium seating type venue, by all means, that is where you should have gone. The Trail is not that, it isn’t trying to be that, and it clearly advertises what it is. As to delays in concessions - that kind of thing happens everywhere when you have a sell-out crowd. There are plenty of us who really...
