Iâm writing this because my experience today was so unexpected and hurtful that it deserves to be shared. My family and I have trusted this jewelry store for years. Ten years ago, they created my wedding ring â a piece I cherish every single day. My daughter and I had been planning this visit for more than two weeks, because we were excited to add ten diamonds to my ring in honor of my 10-year wedding anniversary. I was also hoping to design another custom piece using diamonds I already have, and after searching for over three months, I finally found a birthstone ring that felt perfect.
What should have been a meaningful and joyful visit quickly became the opposite.
When I asked my daughter to take a quick photo so I could show my husband before making a decision, the sales clerk immediately told us photos werenât allowed. I respect that stores may have policies, but the way it was handled was unnecessarily rude. Instead of simply explaining the rule, we were given a lecture about people stealing designs in a condescending tone â even after I explained I only wanted my husbandâs approval.
Trying to find another solution, I asked if the ring was listed on their website. The clerk curtly said, âNo, we donât post many of our rings,â with no effort to help. When I again explained that I just wanted my husbandâs ok before purchasing, Chris told me to âbring him in.â I explained that my husband was 100 miles away and that simply wasnât possible today. His attitude made it clear they were not interested in helping me or earning my business.
At that point, I felt embarrassed, unwelcome, and honestly shocked. My daughter and I had looked forward to this day for weeks, and instead we were met with attitude, judgment, and no willingness to assist us in any way. I even asked where this âno photosâ policy was posted, because I hadnât seen any signs â and of course, there were none. I asked for an apology for how we were spoken to, but none was offered. All I was told again was, âItâs our policy.â
Before leaving, I tried to explain to Chris how the interaction made us feel. His response was cold, dismissive, and uncaring â which is exactly why I asked to speak with the owners. I have requested a call from one of them, because I believe they need to understand how their customers are being treated.
My family has always spoken highly of this store, and it genuinely hurts to think about sharing what happened today. Jewelry is not just a purchase â it represents memories, milestones, and emotion. Today was supposed to be a special moment for me and my daughter. Instead, we walked out feeling judged, unwelcome, and heartbroken.
I truly hope the owners take this seriously so no other loyal customer has to experience...
Read moreToday I was called a "Bottom Feeder" by the owner of Charlemagne Fine Jewelry of St.Paul. Allen and I had begun the process having a custom wedding ring designed there back in October. Allen was struggling with the design aspects that I need because I have my hands in water all day. I began participating in the process, going to the store on several occasions to design the ring. We had paid 1829.63 towards the ring. Charlemagne had worked on one wax cast for me, a replica of a ring I currently wear. When I went to the store to approve the wax cast, it was not what I was expecting. It has a particle of dust sized old mine diamond pressed into the wax. I began to express my dismay and concern at the costs incurred and the 10.00 dollar diamond chip. At this point the clerk became defensive and rude. I took a break and went back an hour later to tell him I no longer wanted to have them make the ring. I have had many wonderful custom jewelry pieces created for me in the past from Security Jewelers, Silverwaves, and The Jeweler's Bench without any rudeness or problems at all. The clerk and the owner of Charlemagne treated me like dirt. They acted as if my desire for getting the ring I had envisioned was me trying to get something free. I was humiliated, and they would not give me my money back. They insisted that to make the wax mold of my ring was worth 1000.00. I refused to leave the store and I called the police after being yelled at and pointed at by the owner. So as of now, I have no ring, and they have 1829.63 that they refuse to return. I have called my attorney and filed a fraud claim with my cc company. I'll be back in Duluth where people are fair and kind and honest on...
Read moreI stopped by at 12:00 noon. I walked in door no âhelloâ, nothing, as the last three times I have been there. Ignore me until I ask for help. I can only say I kept going in as it was convenient, never again. I will drive out of my way never to go there again even though I live a few blocks away. I needed a watch repaired, no problem they do not do it. I asked where they would send an expensive watch to be repaired.....they do not know.... I then asked to purchase a silver polishing cloth.....they were under lock and key and the manager was not there to open. really......How do you sell any thing. R F Moellers treated me wonderful. I googled watch repair as your sales person told me to âgoogle itâ,in your parking lot, and off I went. If you want to be treated like you matter, go to RF Moeller, only a...
