Smoke Session Bbq — Local services in Saint Paul

I ordered a rack of pork ribs and a large side of potato salad. The ribs were tender and almost fall off the bone but not quite. They have a great flavor. First note I tasted was pepper. They had bbq sauce and cups if you wanted to take some. Not sure if it was homemade sauce or store bought but it was a tasty sweet and smoky sauce that I wish I got more of. The potato salad is what I'd call a classic mustard base type. Very delicious and tastes like what you'd expect. I only wish they added hard boiled eggs to it to really level up the flavor and texture in the potato salad! Oh i also got smoked chicken wings and choose the bbq flavor for them snd they were also delicious. Very big wings with a nice smoked flavor. Kinda wish the skin crisper but that was likely the result of adding sauce and sitting in the container before I ate them. I would recommend this place...

It’s hard to review the atmosphere of the location being it is a food truck and it’s out in the open. The pepper sauce which is .50 extra, for me wasn’t worth it. Granted it’s only .50 but for me it didn’t help the food nor did it “jump” out at me as if something I really needed. The sauce is on the spicier side. The sauce if I could describe it is similar to what you’d get at Hmong Village; Thai peppers chopped up with fish sauce a hint of lime mixed with water. I ordered my brisket and 1lb of beef “short” ribs as is. No sticky rice or anything. They both are well seasoned and little on the saltier side but it’s good. The meat fell off the bone and the brisket was good as well. I’d go again. The ribs I will say is worth it. Got a good amount of meat and the seasoning on it is really good...

I was made aware of Smoke Session by a recent Facebook post from current St Paul City Council Member Nelsie Yang. After doing a little bit of research I went & finally tried it out. It was easily the best Beef Brisket I’ve ever had. Legit fell apart as I tried to eat it & was incredibly sumptuous. The BBQ sauce they had to compliment it was spot on. The mac & cheese was very nice as well. I deffo will be back to order more of the brisket & try some of the other delicacies. Big up Nelsie for posting about this locally owned business. Would have never heard of them otherwise & my tastebuds would have truly missed out. Keep up the great work Smoke Session BBQ...
