For years. I've passed by and wondered how good could a dive cafe be. Answer solved, pretty damn good. The place looked like a hole in the wall from the outside but after a renovation, it was surprisingly quaint. The cashier was very hospitable and helped us with our order as well as told us about their renovations. I thought the prices were a little high but still not bad. As we gathered our misc, drinks and prepared our salads, we were able to watch the cook prepare food. We took our seats and started our meals until our steaks arrived. The only real negative my daughter and I had was that the steaks were luke warm and not hot. I was very happy with my 16 oz ribeye($23.99) and ate it up. My daughter wasnt as happy as I was with her 14 oz boneless sirloin ($17.99 I think). We both loved the onion rings($6.99). Conclusion: yes, a little bit expensive and I am ok with that, but the food, I thought, tasted pretty good, even though my daughter said it was ok. We still enjoyed ourselves. Recommendation!!! There is major street construction going on AT their location and their business is suffering from that inconvenience, so please please give this place some love and your business. Give it one chance to earn your next visit! And, get the onion rings. Also, go search their menu and you will see that they offer variety and are nominally priced on some items. Finally, I am not associated with this restaurant at all, but I sure hate to see their business suffer because of the city's construction project, especially after, they had to rebuild after a fire closed them a couple years back.

Been going here for 15+ years. Went through a divorce. Heart breaking break ups. Had kids... yada yada! and this is my constant. I travel across town for this place. If I could give 6 stars I would. If you’re a steak snob or picky - please don’t waste time here. Go blow $30-80 on your fancy steaks elsewhere. The value of this price is incredible. Like having dinner or lunch at your hard working blue collared grandparents home. I’m a steak expert - I grill, smoke, and even sous-vide. I’ve been to all the local spots like Manny’s, Murray’s, Ruth Chris, and Jax... even Outback and Roadhouse. I love steaks but sometimes you don’t want to spend the $$$ or too lazy or it’s too hot outside to make steak... this place is a great go-to. The $6.50 lunch specials is a great value. If you’re not in a steak mood, their Gyro’s and Philly Steak sandwich is awesome. Get there early for the Philly’s... they run out quick. Additionally, nice friendly no non-sense staff. Oh and I love this place. ❤️ Update: April 2024. They are finally open again and I am sooooo happy 😊 Prices are a little bit higher but still one of the best values in the Twin Cities! Will be going back over and over with friends and family!

I was quite disappointed with Ari’s Best Steak House after hearing such good things about it. Part of the issue might have been that I didn’t order any steak. The toast and potato was good. The fish was bland (also didn’t come with any sauce) and the bbq ribs were fatty. Also, when I ordered I was told salad would come as a side but I didn’t get any salad. When I went to pick up my food it was a little confusing. For future reference, when you pick up food, walk all the way around the line and booths to the cashier instead of waiting in line. After waiting in line I was told to go around to the cashier and wait there. Also, not a big deal but my order was late for pickup.

Came here on Valentine’s Day on a Friday night. I used to come here a lot before the fire and I remember it being some of the best food I’ve ever had. Now returning after a while, my experience was extremely disappointing. The line took very long, we were probably waiting for about 20 ish minutes to order. After ordering we went to sit down, after waiting 35 minutes for our food, I went to the counter to ask about it. The employee asked the chef and he started yelling at her and all the other employees. Then she proceeded to ignore me for like 5 minutes after I asked. At this point it had been over 40 minutes since we ordered and we weren’t even sure they were making it because I couldn’t get any answers. She then said “sorry, it will be out soon but we’re really busy”. The food finally arrived after almost an hour of waiting. The food honestly sucked. The steak had absolutely no flavor or any sort of charred. It was soggy and flavorless and they gave us very little fries. I had to continuously put salt on my steak because it was so bland and just gross. No effort was put into making our food that we paid a lot of money and waited for an hour for and the service was even worse. Used to love this place now I definitely...

For the Price it is a great deal, I have not been here since I was a kid when I would visit my Step Grandmother in the cities, and it was always a treat then 10 years ago. Nothing has changed, the prices are really reasonable, I got a 12 oz sirloin with a big salad I made, garlic toast and a baked potato. It was just as good as I remember, and It was delicious. I really am not much of a steak person but they made it really well and it was very tender. I want to say something about the previous reviews about the chefs touching the food with their bare hands... have these people reviewing ever stepped into a real restaurant, the food is always touched with their hands, have you ever watched some shows of the fanciest restaurants in the world such as Chef Ramsey? I couldn't believe that review, that is how food is prepared, the only reason to wear gloves is if the person preparing the food had a cut or something. I found the place to be outdated as far as looks, but who cares, they make great food, tastes good, was a clean restaurant, and the prices are awesome. I tried a bite of my friends gyro and it was AMAZING, they do a great job of making and seasoning the meat for that, and gave him more then...
