TSAR BARBER — Local services in Saint Paul

Went today to get a haircut while I’m working from out of town and have had the same barber for right at 5 years and normally refuse to get a haircut until I can come home for a weekend.

Event came up where I needed a cut and I went to tsar and I can 100% confidently say Robert is hands down the best barber I’ve ever had (to be honest I wish I didn’t have to go back to my regular barber back home now😂)

He scissor cut and thinned out the top of my hair which gets extremely thick and gave me a literal perfect fade around the sides, Lined my beard up and straightened it up and has it looking better than ever and even blended it into my fade perfectly.

On top of all that he was super cool to talk to and we had great conversation the entire cut instead of awkward silence or generic small talk like you get at most barber shops. Seemed like he truly loves what he does, cares about his clients, does not rush his haircuts or cut any corners and takes pride in the work he does(as he should)

In case that didn’t sell you on getting your hair cut by Rob he’s also been teaching barber school several years and started learning to cut hair at 14 and with that kind of experience I’m not sure it’s possible not to be the best at what you do!

Can confidently say these remaining several months that I’m in town I will not be seeing ANY other barbers...

Been here a few times now and will continue coming back! I have been bouncing around several local boutique men’s barbershops/salons spending $10+ more for cuts that were usually pretty good but inconsistent.

I have gotten a very good cut and a quality fade (a good fade is hard to find) each time I’ve been here. The owner is a great guy and always makes you feel welcome and appreciated. Online scheduling system is simple.

You may struggle to find this spot based on your GPs directions. It’s at the back and center of the strip mall. It’s easier to park in the back parking lot and enter right there rather than park in the lot facing the front of the mall along highland parkway.

I was visiting the Twin Cities on a trip back home with my partner and we both needed haircuts, so I did a quick search and found Pete and his crew at Tsar Barber. It was a quick and easy reservation process, and it’s a wonderful location to arrive early to or explore after your visit.

This barber shop is incredibly clean, comfortably decorated (with a variety of very cool barber collectible items on display), and the staff made us feel very welcome. Pete was very efficient with my haircut and we had a very pleasant conversation throughout. I walked away with an excellent haircut, a comfortable experience, and a new MSP barber.
