V•Stock — Local services in Saint Peters

This has got to be the worst experience I have ever received not only in V-Stock but, in any retail store I’ve ever shopped in. I came in with my Husband to sell some items. Not only was I greeted with “What is it?” as we walked up to the counter to sell instead of a hello or welcome or how can I help you. The cashier was INCREDIBLY rude, dismissive and acted like we were bothering him to do a portion of his job. He proceeded to berate my Husband about what we brought in and told us that we weren’t a main priority and that in store customers would have to come first instead of him trying to take stock of what he brought in. Which, I understand that in store customers need helped as well. But, the store was completely dead, not a single person in sight. He told us it would be an hour, which is not a problem. We do some shopping and he calls us and tells us he’s done a short time later. We walk in again, to be greeted with “OF COURSE!” He was mad that we came back and then he wasn’t even done, he forgot a portion of our order and was mad we arrived before he was done. He never called us back to say he wasn’t done and that he missed some items. This has got to be the worst customer service I have ever received and witnessed. We were never greeted, welcomed in, no one said hi, how can we help you. We were told we weren’t important, we were treated like we were interrupting someone and ruining their day by doing something this business allows. We were talked down too, treated like garbage and never once did we feel comfortable or safe inside of this store. This isn’t the first time cashiers have been rude to us about selling items but, we always tried to let it go but, not once have we been treated nicely when we try to come sell some items inside this V-Stock. Overall great experience! Selection is more than 10 times bigger than Slackers and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. You can find some gems at the place plus music, books, even board games. The prices are insanely better than Slackers. I saw V-Stock had a certain game for 18.99 and Slackers had the same game for 21.99. This is the same idea for every game between the two. All the games I have purchased so far from Vintage Stock has been working just fine. Some are even scratch free! Extremely happy with the attitude and quality of their products. But, there is a reason they can offer them cheaper and it's the only reason I didn't want to give them 5 stars, but they do deserve 5 stars. Anyways, when you trade things in with them they really hit you hard on the store credit they give you. I will say that Slackers upstairs gives you a little bit better of a deal with trade-ins. Only by a couple dollars though and I'm never really looking to trade games I'm looking to buy. Simply cannot argue with the prices up at V-Stock. I found some games there that are actually more expensive online at Ebay, Amazon, Gamestop exc.. If I could I would give them a 9.5/10 for the soooooo many up sides at the store and the one little downside. This place has a great selection. But the reason I'm writing this review is to warn those who are in the position of selling electronics to them. I tried to sell my original switch console along with a copy of Let's go Eevee and a host of controllers and other accessories. The clerk clicked the buttons on the console for a couple minutes and then proceeded to offer me $75 plus "a couple bucks" as he put it for everything else. I turned around and listed the items on FB marketplace and within a week I had it sold for $200. The retail value of all of it was certainly above $250. The most surprising thing to me about this embarrassing encounter was that the employee didn't even power on the console. What if it was completely broken? I was expecting them to carefully inspect everything before even offering to purchase the items. Good shop for buying. Don't sell here. Find someone directly or list your stuff online.
