Clint Johnson of Pier One Yacht Sales spent several weekends with my brother and I looking near and far for the perfect sailboat. My brother and I had different ideas of what we wanted in a boat, but Clint listen and found us the perfect sailboat. Clint’s tremendous knowledge of sailing and sailboats from years of racing and from his service in the Navy is a huge benefit to anyone buying/selling a boat. Clint is very professional and there was never any pressure to buy. Clint and Pier One walked us through the buying process, taking the stress out of closing and everything was done electronically. Our new boat was 90 miles away, Clint knowing we were novice sailors offered to help us bring the boat home. Clint, my son and I spent 2 ½ days bringing the boat up from Port Charlotte to St. Pete, patiently teaching us about the boats systems, navigation apps, and sailing. Daryl Hall, one of the sales reps was extremely rude and hung up during my call. I was trying to buy a boat and was questioning why I needed a large deposit. I am prequalified and ready to purchase immediately. I’ve bought several boats and never needed a deposit of the size requested. I have owned more than 20 boats ranging from wakeboard boats up to 45 foot cruisers. When I questioned how I bought other boats with much smaller deposits, Mr. Hall became very defensive and rude. Mr Hall hung up while I was speaking. I tried to call the main brokerage company and got a recording saying that the number had been disconnected. This seems like a poorly run or shady business.
