Tampa Bay Sunset Sail — Local services in Saint Petersburg

I simply don’t have enough good things to say about our experience with Captain Andy and the whole crew at Tampa Bay Sunset Sail. My (now) fiancé and I had the pleasure of taking an evening cruise around the bay at sunset for our marriage proposal.

Planning a secret trip like this can be stressful, but Andy couldn’t have made my life any easier. He was extremely accommodating, and I don’t think I ever had to wait more than a couple minutes for a response. I brought a musician along for ambiance, and he worked with our schedule to allow her to board early to set up her equipment. This helped keep the surprise under wraps and gave our musician more time to prepare.

When we arrived we were welcomed on board with open arms and fresh, crisp bottles of water with complimentary beverage coozies. Everyone was extremely friendly and thoughtful, and we were allowed to make ourselves comfortable practically anywhere on the boat we pleased.

Sailing a boat is not easy, but Captain Andy and his crew do it with graceful elegance. He weaved us in between many boats and tight spots in seemingly effortless fashion, and before we knew it we were away from the docks and taking in the most beautiful sunset we’ve ever seen. As we sailed around near the shore our boat was getting a ton of attention, people were taking photos and waving and trying to get a better look at the beautiful ship with the relaxing music.

The proposal went off without a hitch, and afterwards Captain Andy informed me that he had taken several photos of us during the trip that he made available to us a couple days later to help us remember our special day. This was such a kind and beautiful gesture and I can’t thank him enough for being so thoughtful.

We had an incredible time on this sailboat excursion! The experience was nothing short of amazing. The boat is absolutely gorgeous and felt so luxurious. The highlights of the trip was our chance to see dolphins AND an alligator in their natural habitat, along with the beautiful St Pete skyline as the sun began to set. It was clear to us that Captain Andy is passionate about sailing and we felt safe in the hands of a seasoned professional. Kathryn, Andy's wife, was a wonderful presence on the sailboat. Her warmth and friendliness made the whole experience feel even more personal and enjoyable. It's rare to come across hosts who make you feel like part of the family, and Kathryn definitely succeeded in doing just that. This sailboat excursion exceeded my expectations and was an unforgettable adventure. I can't recommend this experience enough, and I'm already looking forward to joining another trip with them...

If I could give this experience more than 5 stars on a google review I would. Captain Andy and Sara were not only the most considerate and amazing people I have met but went above and beyond for my birthday. From providing wine glasses, giving me a captains hat, a speaker, the best views of the sunset and just enhancing the atmosphere overall. I cannot recommend them enough.
