South Straub Park — Attraction in Saint Petersburg

My husband and I were in town from Miami for the weekend and we stopped to see the fireworks show, which is just a short walk from our hotel. We brought a blanket and plopped down on the grass to watch the display of fireworks! It was a blast! 😃

This is a waterfront park in downtown St. Pete with plenty of green space to walk and escape the city traffic congestion. We approached the fountain, but didn’t like what the crowd was doing, so we left. Marijuana stench is quite repugnant to me. 🤢 The fountain is in need of a good cleaning and maintenance.

2019 Saint Petersburg Pride Parade What a visual experience! The people were vibrant, energetic, empowering, enthusiastic and just plain happy! The energy of the crowd was positive and loving. I saw some creative outfits, very colorful and expressive! This was my first pride parade so I had no idea what to expect. I was people watching the whole day, how could you not? I saw a range of age groups from babies to old people. I saw t-shirts that said Proud brother worn by little kids, I saw Proud Mom/Dad t-shirts and I saw girls walking around with no shirts.
