My girlfriend heard about the solid selection of 50 cent, $1 and their TB selection. We took the ride from Boston excited to check it out. Her, being a new collector looking for some series to get into was exciting for both of us. We came into the store and was impressed at first. Then we started going through the 50 cent books in the 1st room and noticed the cashier looking at us multiple times. I left the room with about 10 and her 20ish from there. We proceed to look in the other room and we went through the dollar picks to see what would catch her eye. All good there. So then we proceeded to their big (main) room where I was looking for specific titles and just whatever caught my eye. As I was going through the bins trying to look, my GF and I couldn't help but notice one of the workers walking back and forth between the front and another closed door room in the back. We really wanted to look but she started feeling uncomfortable that we were constantly being watched repeatedly, as if we were going to steal and 50 cent-5 dollar comics. I'm a 38 year comic book collector. The fact this gentleman was so noticable watching us, I put away some extra comics I had planned on purchasing and we decided to get the hell outta there. So in total, I only spent $15 and she spent 31.50. The week before at Comically Speaking, we dropped twice that amount and maybe would have if we weren't so uncomfortable being followed and stared at. We do not recommend this store. While it has a better comic selection than Newbury comics, between the average comics and horrible service, we will never go there again and spend our money on places worth our time and investment. 1 star...
Read moreNot a bad place to stop in and see what they have. Im a pokemon tcg collector and with the pokemon craze happening at the moment it’s tough to find anything anywhere but 2 out of 3 times I went they had some decent stuff that I pulled fairly well from. They are definitely not a heavy pokemon centered store but they do their best to have a variety. Their booster boxes are pretty competitive in their price, etbs are a little over priced but I don’t mind paying the extra to support a local card business. When I first bought from the guy working there that day he seemed a little annoyed with me but after I came back the customer service was totally different, so, I may have just caught him on an off day my first time. Something I do really appreciate is that they always answer their phones! I like to check what is in stock before traveling since I live in Manchester! So I appreciate their...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I frequent the Salem location, and many times I come in alone (with no idea what I’m looking for); after coming in a few weekends in a row we met Paul and Andrew who are both great. They are always welcoming and let us know what the latest releases are as soon as we walk in. They are beyond helpful and happy with all customers, smiling as you come in. They are reasonably priced for NH and MA, and we have traveled through both states looking at various card shops. They have turned me onto some unique boxes for baseball as I’m myself not a card collector and if I come back to back weekends will sometimes ask what I pulled. Definitely recommend them, and we just went to the Seabrook location and met Chris who was great to...
