Buying new furniture should be a fun experience which was the case at Kelly's Furniture in Salem. There were great sales, quality furniture and a good amount of selections. Both employees were great! I liked the fact that the young gentleman acknowledged me when I came in, offered to help me but at my request let me look around, and without hovering. I did a once-through to check everything out and then went next door to check out another furniture store. I quickly returned to Kelly's Furniture. This time Ashley greeted me. I appreciated looking at the furniture on my own but was impressed with her judgement in timing as to when to check back with me for any questions or assistance. I could tell she cared about helping me, and her job, by her professionalism, knowledge and friendliness. Ashley listened to my needs, didn't pressure me to make any hasty decisions and was most helpful for the three hours I took in making my decisions. I am so happy with my selections! I ended up getting everything I wanted, a dining set and a living room set. I knew she cared that I was happy with my purchase. That was the fun part but now what could be the dreaded paperwork was a breeze for Ashley. She was extremely efficient and quick. Read moreThis was the worst decision we ever made. We loved the couches that I am sure we could have found somewhere else where sales people do not lie. Management does not lie. We gave a down payment of $3,500 for a pair of couches. They were supposed to have them by the 25th. They would deliver them that day. The day comes and we call to make the final payment. The salesman says that they are not ready because they were not ordered. We told him we want to just cancel our order since they did not order them. He tells us that we would be charged 50% for restocking fee. They had not ordered anything, yet, they were wanting 50% for restocking! Ridiculous!!! We talked to the manager and she tells us that it had already been ordered, she lied because the other sales person already said they were not ordered. She said she did order and that are w on the way from California and it would take another week before we would receive them! It was a huge mistake to get anything from there. We will never go here again. If you deal with these people, good luck. Worst experience ever!

Read moreI would like to take the time to thank Ashley Mathis, and Matthew Whiteman, Salem store, for their excellence in salesmanship and customer service. I remember seeing an ad in some magazine maybe ten years ago and thought to myself that I would like to have a recliner like that. After my leather chair finally wore out after 30 years, I decided to take a look at Stressless recliners. I stopped at Kelly’s where I met Ashley. She was very knowledgeable about how the recliners were made; how they worked; and the various models, sizes, and leathers available. She spent about an hour with me going over everything for me to consider. About four months later, I returned to place my order and found that Ashley was off Fridays. Matthew introduced himself and assured me that in placing my order today, Ashley would get full credit for the sale. He guided me through the leather selections, colors, and base selection once more. He explained the time element involved with some of the color selections and spent quite a bit of time with me on this large expenditure. He then assured me again that Ashley would get full credit. I thought to myself that Matthew was of great character and must be an asset to this company.
