I have always been a big fan of Kroger. I actually worked at another location for a few months while I was in high school and they were a great place to work. Some of my former co-workers now work at this location in Salem. All of the employees are friendly and helpful. The produce section is usually well stocked with quality items although occasionally the shipment the receive of certain items may not be the best that week. There are a lot of great steak and seafood options in the meat department. If you have food allergies they have many great options in stock, especially gluten free. ClickList at this location is typically pretty good although sometimes on specialty items that are difficult to find in store they will list them as out of stock and you walk in afterwards to find the shelf full of them (which kind of defeats the purpose of the service) but overall they...

Today, an onion slightly larger than a golf ball and zucchini and squash smaller than my hand and along with our peppers, practically expired. This is embarrassing. The choices in store are not usually much better. We have received rancid meat (within date) multiple times as well which is completely unacceptable. Also, the bathroom in the store is also disgusting every time. How the employees can even stand to use it is beyond me. The management of this store is absolutely terrible. Your customers deserve so much better. Read morei HAVE always came to this KROGER due to its nearest to me and always has everything but I was shocked when we did a humanitarian trip to help Puerto Rico that they were the only Walmart in the area that was not willing to participate in giving a gift card for donations changed my outlook specially since I came by 3 times got different stories til finally the manager just said no AS I HAD THE CORPORATE LADY Kristy ON THE LINE HE INSISTED HE DIDN'T WANT TO HELP LAUGHING ABOUT NOT WILLING TO PARTICIPATE. Corporate did tell me to come in the store they could do the cards and thank god the Salem one couldn't help but all the others in Roanoke were able to assist.
