Spartan Square — Local services in Salem

Went to the Kroger at that location. Clean store well stocked and friendly employees! I normally go to the Kroger at the Towers Mall location I live in Old SW and that Kroger is always overcrowded the entire store overcrowded then you get up to the lines and it's even more of a mess with all the people waiting to check out looking confused cause nobody is standing in an actual line. Never have exactly what I want or need always a few things I leave that store without. But the one in Salem at this location was fully stocked and I walked out with everything I wanted and needed plus a few things Towers don't have or sell. The store was not overcrowded and no lines it was a dream lol. The older woman at the scan your own lane was very sweet and very polite and actually took the time to explain how the weight works where you bag the grocers because it kept messing up it didn't mess up I did by grabbing to soon lol but she explained how it worked and when you can pull your bags and put them into the cart. Mind blown cause it happens all the time to me at Kroger and Walmart smh. Helpful information to walk out of that store with lol. Now I know all in all if that store wasn't in Salem I would go to that...

I have only shopped at the Ollie's. There is a Kroger at the other end of the shopping center which I will try sometime. So my review is for Ollie's. This is not the best one I have been to. The one in Hampton,VA was much better. The floors need to be stripped and buffed, they look filthy. The clearance area is shoved to the back corner basically on top of the meager excuse for a coffee area (I am grateful, but I'm comparing this to the nicer location). Currently the food selection is down, but that fluctuates. Something to consider is the rugs they get in, great prices. I don't mean the...

Spartan Square needs something ! Yes there's a gym there but besides that what reason do you have to go to Spartan Square ? None, save Kroger, & although I do appreciate a good grocery store there's not a whole lot of other reasons for even entering that navigational nightmare. You better be on your A Game if you're going in b/c that's where the nightmare begins !
