Store is great. Clean, organized, and fairly well stocked. The recent problem at more than one Market Basket is their new staff. Deli workers are slow to stop talking with coworkers to take your order. Often don't cut meats at requested thickness. Don't stagger the deli meats or cheeses making them difficult to separate when making a sandwich. Clerks at the register are more concerned with watching what's going on around them in the store that scanning your items, causing lines to increase. And the baggers have no idea how to bag items. Last week, in one bag, he put 8 jars of baby food, 6 cans of veggies, 4 bottles of energy drinks, 1 quart of half 'n' half at the bottom....then more items one top of that! It weighed a "ton", was difficult to carry and fortunately didn't rip. Maybe I've been spoiled by the caliber of employees MB has always had, but these newcomers should be trained more thoroughly. And one more thing, I asked a shelf stocker (working on the end cap between aisles 10 & 11) where I could find an item. He told me aisle 3. I went to aisle 3, but he was way off. So I back tracked, aisle by aisle till I found what I was looking for...it was in aisle 11! I would have been much better off he had just said he...
Read moreI shop for Instacart so not even my own groceries. This is the third time I’ve been in the store and I won’t be back! When I approached the register and told them I was an Instacart shopper it didn’t seem to make a difference. I noticed that the bagger was combining items from different orders so I explain to her I needed to keep them separate and moved the items to where they needed to be but when I turned around the bagger then moved the items back into the wrong area. The bagger stated to me I could take two carts which is totally fine but I said I need to still keep the orders separate, she then turned and put the bag I had moved back into the wrong spot. I am now in the parking lot re-bagging all of my items because I have milk on top of bananas, heavy boxed items in with my chips and a fully cooked rotisserie chicken with a hole in the package. Now I am the one on the other end that Hass to deliver these items to customers damaged and take the repercussions which I will. I don’t feel this is just a Market Basket issue, humans in general just don’t care as much as they used to, there...
Read moreOMG, please tell your cashiers not to discuss politics unprompted while they’re ringing customers up. Seriously sooo uncomfortable. My cashier (who has apparently been working there for 2 years) was eavesdropping on a conversation in another line where people were talking about groceries being expensive. It wasn’t even a political conversation, just people making friendly small-talk. My cashier proceeds to start ranting to me about how people hate the president for no reason, how “no one’s even giving him a chance,” etc. I don’t care whatever her political views are, but I’m not interested in discussing it when I’m trying to get my groceries and leave, lol. I wasn’t really responding, just politely nodding, but she kept going on this rant until she was finally done scanning. The list of cashiers I try to avoid at this location grows by the day, and now this lady is on the mental list. I wish they had self checkout if the cashiers are going to be so...
