Sandy the sales person was very good and patient. I asked for a written estimate of the items chosen. She did not give the actual total of the items as requested. Items were listed separately and not included in the final price...making the final price appear lower than it actually wound up being. There was also a $50 error in one of the charges but was corrected in the office when l brought attention to it. If l didn't have the written estimate l wouldn't have even known.
The office person finalizing the purchase wa ac accommodating to my requests. It's the Schewels purchase procedures l take issues with. Any warranties, the final price details are not shown unti After you pay for the purchase. There are many conditions and extra charges if anything goes went wrong and the items would have to be returned or exchanged. For the warranties themselves there were extra items that had to be purchased or the warranty would be voided. The charges seemed excessive.
Generally, it felt as if l was "nickeled and dimed" at the end with extra charges or conditions to make the purchase final.
This has happened to me before with a previous i items purchased and that is why l asked for a written estimate of the final price. That way l had something to compare to.
Advice... ask for a written estimate and the stores warranties and exchange, delivery, return policies ahead so you can read them before you hand over your money or it many cost you at least 10% more than the prices quoted and you'll have hundreds of $ in fees added if something goes wrong.
I've had this happen in a previous purchase when it was not disclosed that the item was discontinued and something was wrong and l tried to exchange the item. In the end, it was cheaper to sell the item at half price and buy elsewhere than to return it to the store.
It's Schewels procedures l have a issue with. You don't see any of the written warranties, delivery or return, etc. procedures until AFTER you sign and pay for your purchase and l had to ask very specific questions to get the answers as there were many more conditions and charges if anything went wrong.
The charges, not mentioned would add several hundred dollars to the total price if the itemswere exchanged or returned. It felt as if issue with as you purchase...
Read moreRita the wonderful lady who helped us with recliners and a sleeper sofa was just amazing. She took her time pulled out multiple sleepers helped us measure. She was talking to us about our grandbaby and our kids. She really made us feel special! The finance lady was amazing as well however I dont recall her name. She made the process easy and fast. We didnt have to spend a whole lot of time waiting for anything. They were able to schedule our delivery in a timely manner working around our jobs and schedules. The delivery men made it up our driveway. Which is saying alot since the last company we bought from refused to do it and made us deliver our own furniture from the street. These men took their time asked where they could place our stuff. Put a bumper on our door so they didnt scratch furniture or the door . They set it all up making sure we were happy. Man small talk with us and were very respectful our solar lights that go the length of the driveway and house making sure not to knock into any of them . I have to say I will certainly use schewels for my furniture needs in the future. They also had the best deals on what we purchased compared to their competitor. Thank you for taking your time and making us feel like we were part of...
Read moreI purchased furniture from them a little over a year ago and have nothing but trouble since. I was advised when I purchased the sectional, ottoman, and swivel chair that the items were covered with a lifetime warranty that covered wear and tear anything defected in the items itself. I specifically asked if that included cigarettes burns or pet stains and I was advised by the salesperson it was. Well about 6 months after my purchase I contacted them concerning a burn in the ottoman, I was informed that it was not covered and it could not fix. Needless to say I was upset. Well I contacted them again today and advised them the main custions on the section were sagging (the second time by the way) and needed to order a replacement. I was then informed that my so called warranty was over and theyc ould not be replaced. The only thing still in warranty was the stain portion. Well who cares about a stain when the cushion is sagging. I am very upset with this company and will never do business with them. You would think after spending almost 3000 on furniture the least they could do was honor...
