China Wok — Restaurant in Salem

This W Main St China Wok is probably 3 stars currently- I agree with Kevin Stanley they have really slipped up. I came by here 4 times in the same week and had different dishes. Once in the same day Haha to pick up more General Tsos. I used to be addicted to this place. However recently the taste isn't the same. I don't know what it is. My wife won't even touch their food anymore. She doesn't even like walking in the place. So she doesn't come with me when I eat here. I still enjoy their noodles but I no longer eat their chicken dishes. The staff also have slipped in their service. The younger kid who usually takes the orders recently told me “ I don't have any time to answer your question”. I was asking how to say 1 word in chinese. Pathetic. He ended it by saying very snotty “ Go to a school to learn chinese. We arent a school. ” I know you arent a school but i just want to know how to say 1 word. He says “ My chinese isn't that great anyway. I'm from America. ” I don't know if he was telling the truth about his chinese or not. Either way it was rude. They need to do better and get the...

Excellent service from China Wok in Salem and GREAT food with all capital letters. There are some teenage kids that usually take your order. Those kids speak english just like us, so no need to worry about confusion. They also understand the context of what your trying to say. That's because they're born in america. According to them, they can't even speak chinese good, and don't like or want to speak chinese. The older boy told me "I don't need to speak good chinese, I only understand basic chinese. I am an american and I love this country, and the language". Which is great to hear him say. Those kids help their parents out a lot, who weren't born here and came from China at a later age. This place is honestly a joke. They have children running the registers (and these children aren’t even friendly) the guy that was taking an order on the phone was sitting there picking his nose the entire time, then proceeded to go back to the kitchen without washing his hands or anything. The workers had on flip flops and chucks which i’m pretty sure are not ecosure appropiate, but by the looks of their resturant, they don’t care about ecosure.
