I recently had a very bad experience with this particular Home Depot in Salem NH. I ordered a black iron pipe on Home depot (online) that I needed cut into custom length sections. I cut it and then brought it to home depot to have it threaded on their threading machine. I spoke to Ron who was completely disinterested in helping me. First, he didn't listen to the request and went to go look for pipe in stock at the store after I told him I had it. Then, he tried to say he couldn't cut the pipe because they did sell it, I told him I bought it online from Home Depot. Then with very clear attitude, he said abruptly "bring it in". I brought it in...the instant he looked at the pipes in my hand he curtly said "TOO SHORT" and I said, what do you mean? He said it wouldn't fit in the machine. HE NEVER said anything about a minimum length requirement. Didn't even try to work with me or provide help or an alternative. This guy looks to be about 70 years old and just doesn't care anymore...he's marking the days to retirement. I went to customer service and asked to speak to the Manager, who walked right by me in the aisle, and then said she didn't see me when I went back to customer service, after waiting 10 minutes, to find out where the Manager was. Manager didn't even try to resolve the situation. Didn't have a care in the world to try to help out in any way shape or form. I don't know if she didn't want to confront Ron or if she too just doesn't give a $h!t about customer service. I finally went to LOWES in Salem NH and Got the pipes threaded in 10 minutes with no issues. I guess from now on I'm going to prioritize Lowes over Home Depot because at least Lowes makes an attempt...
Read moreTried to find out about ordering an air conditioner online because they had none at our store. The customer service woman was extremely rude, snippy and short tempered! She obviously hates her job. Then we attempted to call the store after we ordered it online so we wouldn’t have to deal with her. They never shipped my online order!? Called the main number four times with a 30-55 minute hold time each call, dropping our calls each time. When we finally reached a representative on May 27th at around 5pm, Michelle (The call representative), said our air conditioner that we waited two weeks for, was never shipped and then hung up on me! Seriously? Tracking hasn’t updated in four days! Called the corporate number and that was even worse. Couldn’t get the right department because it kept going back to the main menu. Started an online chat and that was a joke too. Home Depot has no method of speaking to a person nor any customer service whatsoever! Now we don’t know if our air conditioner is coming or not! Going to Lowe’s next time! Terrible company! Terrible store location!
Update: We’ve used Home Depot 5 times for different things and each time it was disastrous. Everything we’ve ever had them do to our home, from window installations to carpet laying, has been awful from the service to the response or lack thereof. This is to be expected since they use third party contractors. Read morePurchased a Washer, Dryer and refrigerator to be delivered and installed and was the worst experience ever.
First - The deliverer drivers had only the dryer and refrigerator, telling us while they were at our door the dryer didn't come in yet. I was concerned why I was finding out when there were at my door rather then calling me and asking if I wanted to reschedule. Seeing me and my wife both took the day off.
Second - The dryer they couldn't install which we paid extra for the vent and for them to attach it. Apparently they only carry standard size vents and told us they couldn't install what we paid for.
Third - The refrigerator well then they told us they can't install that either because the shutoff for the water tube isn't in the wall near the fridge it's downstairs. SO they told us we needed a plumber
Fourth - I called home depot and talked to a shady manager on call. Who was trying to convinced the delivery and installers to just use the old vents or talk me into hooking the old vent up myself "not what I paid for"
5th - I called today because I didn't get a call back from the manager the next business day as promised and he was in a meeting when I called. He did leave a voicemail message. So I called back and someone said they were getting him and then hung-up on me rather then putting me on hold.
Don't buy anything that needs to be delivered and installed by them there unprofessional and careless and don't care about there customers.
