The Pop Shoppe — Local services in Salisbury

I used to love this place, but was turned off today when I was told that they no longer offer military discounts. I don't expect discounts and usually forget to ask for them, but I always remembered these guys doing it because they are right next to the VA. And when I asked him about the discount (the owner), he did even offer an explanation or even show concern about my question.

It must be due to new management. Again, I don't expect discounts, but since this store always offered it, the decision not to makes more of a point than a place that never offered it. I mean, a 10% discount not only shows that a store honors our service, but from a business perspective, being right next to the main VA hospital is a no-brainer.

I will be seeing if the other gas stations near the VA do offer a discount and that will inform me about where I will...

Normally come during the day and I FULLY support this place! Clean store, very polite staff and they were following the Covid guidelines greatly. Now the last few evening I’ve come close to 11pm and there is always WAY MORE than the posted 5 people allowed in the store, none of the customers have masks on and the staff say nothing. Tonight again (same as last time I was here) there’s a bunch of people gaggled outside and it’s very uncomfortable. Being approached for change or a cigarette and then the same people go and “hang out” in the store with the clerk so you can’t even complain to her. Beyond u safe feeling I’ll stick to my day...

Probably not going back to this store because the night shift clerk who wears glasses and wears his brown hair in a man bun was being prejudice to me. I was just getting some snacks for my gate security shift at the VA. Came to the counter with my items and I asked the clerk 'do you have any new $2 tickets?' His response 'can you put those items on the counter? I don't want to go back and forth (referring to lottery)'. How is that going back and forth if all I wanted was two $2 tickets added to the current transaction? That clerk needs to work on his customer service...
