We visited Osaka for the first time last night. I will say it was Valentine’s Day and a Friday so they were busy. We gave the waitresses grace because of this - the dining room was pretty full and there were several people waiting on take out. It took a long time to get menus, drinks, etc. We did get eggrolls and those were good. We put in our food order I believe after being there for 20 minutes. The waitress would buzz by and say something about checking on our food and she would let us know and then she would disappear. The only other food that came out as far as people who ordered after us was sushi, soup, salads. We assumed the sushi chef was a different person than the people cooking hibachi and just kept waiting. Mind you, we were trying to keep our 1.5 year old entertained this whole time. After an hour and a half I finally was able to get the waitress’ attention to figure out what was going on with our food. If it wasn’t being plated right then, we were leaving. The waitress came out and told us that she had forgot to put the order in… We left, never got our food so I can’t say if it’s good or not. Such a disappointing experience. The two waitresses handling most everything were so disorganized. They didn’t have specific tables each was taking care of so they were adding to their work by checking to see if tables had ordered and what not when the other person had already done it. It just added to the confusion and made mistakes more likely to happen. I doubt I’ll be back. Not putting in a customer’s order and not realizing it until they’re finally able to get you to actually check an hour and a half later is absolutely...
Read more3rd time eating from this restaurant and will definitely be the last. We didn't care for it the first 2 times and was really wanting some Japanese tonight and with our 2 favorites in Salisbury, Katana and Tokyo Express both closed on Tues, we gave Osaka another try. Just as bad as the first 2 times. Wife and I both had the steak and shrimp with vegetable plates and also got an order of Rangoons. Nothing ...and I mean nothing had any flavor to it. If you tasted this plate blindfolded you wouldn't be able to tell the carrots from shrimp, steak from broccoli, except from the texture, but everything we've ordered from here all 3 times is so bland and absolutely no flavor at all. This will definitely be our last time eating at Osaka. Do not waste your money going here. By the way, we were the "only" 2 people in the restaurant so this should have to us to leave!!! 3rd...
Read moreI equate going to a Japanese restaurant and ordering a California roll with going to an Italian restaurant and ordering spaghetti. A trade in of an opportunity to try something different, for that of something feel good and simple. If they can't get something basic right, how can they get everything else right? Today I wanted feel good. And feel good I did. The California roll melted in my mouth, I never wanted it to end. It has been a long time since I had one so good. I even debated turning around and ordering two more, it was that good. The food we ordered as well was perfectly cooked, albeit smaller portions then I am used to getting at a Japanese restaurant, but the flavors were on point. All in all, I will definitely be coming back for more. All because of that...
