Curiosity — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

Went to Curiosity yesterday and had an espresso and a pour over! The espresso was a washed Guatemala with a heavy chocolate flavor, but the body of the shot was quite light and bright, super good just not what I am used to. Really enjoyable shot!

The pour over was freakin unreal! I’ve never had such a solid coffee from any other establishment, especially drip. It was a washed Kenya and had the most juicy complexity to it. Light amounts of the most enjoyable acidity, and straight berry flavors. Maybe the best pour over coffee I’ve ever had! Also bought a bag of washed Ethiopia from Coffee Collective which they carry, and they have a beautiful array of non alcoholic drinks and bottles for purchase as well. Honestly love coming here every time, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for quality non alcoholic bevs or amazing coffee in a thoughtfully designed space. I am saddened that this bar will be permanently closed (due to financial issues from a medical emergency in the owner's family), and I am happy that I was able to pay a visit on their very last day. The drinks were amazing. The matcha lattes here are the absolute best. The atmosphere here was so eclectic and kitchy that I had not seen in any other place. All options on the menu are non-alcoholic, which is a breath of fresh air for people who want to be in the bar scene but can't or don't want to drink alcohol. This was also a very queer friendly placed that was queer owned, which is very valuable in Salt Lake City.

I very much hope that this will not be the last we see of Curiosity, but either way, I wish the very best to the owner. I hope that their mother is not in pain from her brain tumor and that she gets all the love in the world. Thank you for providing such a unique and calm...

Ive been practicing sobriety since Oct 22' to live a healthier lifestyle, and omgosh what a cute little pleasant surprise this was to stumble across. I had only went to get my haircut at Jebs not realizing I literally parked right in front of this place as I was getting in my car leaving, so of course I had to shut off my car an go in and check it out 😌 Im so glad I did, such a great staff, great environment, great drinks, great eats, great tunes played via records, and great aroma in the air of palo santos. Its so nice to have a warm friendly environment where you can still enjoy a nice fancy drink while getting to socialize but without the toxicity of alcohol and everything that brings.
