They allegedly fixed an expensive botched heater/defrost job from another shop, but something still wasn’t right with it. I just dealt with it for a couple of months because A/C isn’t required for daily life. I expressed my dissatisfaction to Josey/Joey…whatever her name is, and when I went to pick up my car, she ran scaredy-cat to fetch the mechanic to deal with me. I sat in the parking lot for about 10 minutes to test the car before I left the lot, and went back in to inquire about the ongoing hiccups the car was having. Had to have a little fun with the situation and asked who wasn’t scared to talk to me. Same mechanic came to explain that the car might still do that, but it wasn’t an issue with their $709 worth of work. On top of the $200+ I spent with them before. On top of the $2300 at the last shop. All for a defrost/heater issue that turned into an A/C issue. I mean, I would expect to spend over $3,000 on some major mechanical problem…but I wasn’t expecting that price point for what it turned out to be.

8/29 Update: It’s less than 6 months later and the check-engine light is on again. Called to see if they could look at it & was told that they will not service my car. They are hostile that I was dissatisfied before and expressed it in a way they apparently didn’t appreciate. Could have amended my review to a more positive light had they chosen to see the car. I have a 2016 ATS-V. I love it, it's a rare and fast car with large power potential. I bought the thing in march of 2021. I was experiencing some oddness in power delivery under heavy load. They got me an appointment immediately. Dennis not only explained to me that some things I read online were incorrect and would be bad for the car, but he followed up with research before he performed the part replacement I needed. prices were more than fair. Car runs really well, no misfires, no hiccups, way better power delivery now. They sent me a postcard that I got yesterday. I love repair places like this, they're both old school and feel like the mechanic shops in my home town, but they have a huge amount of experience that I am very confident in. because my car is kind of rare, I have a hard time finding all the info I need and changes to the car are more challenging to handle than say a bmw m3. Having these folks (especially Dennis) around makes it so much easier. I will be using them for everything on the car that...

I'm sitting here in the waiting room at 2pm on a Friday. We are headed to some backcountry camping this weekend and doing our last minute safety check, only to find no oil reading at all!! I drove straight to MasterTech with pleading hands and they gladly said they would take a look. In less than 5 min, they confirmed no oil reading and that we are overdue for a change "Would you like me to take care of that right now for you?" was their friendly response, with a smile!!! I have been to MasterTech repeatedly over the last few years and they are consistently 10 stars on a 5 star scale! They will always tell it to you straight, never sell you fixes that you don't need, and understands a tight budget and will help me plan for future maintenance and repairs. I trust them with my '98 F150 with over 225k miles on it, and we regularly take it out to very remote wilderness without any concern because this family business is taking care of her!
