My first and LAST time going to nuance aesthetics. The appointment that I will regret for the rest of my life for real. This one appointment at nuance has caused so many issues I can’t even tell you how bad. I have now visited the ER, a dermatologist and an ocular surgeon because of this one botched appointment at nuance. I have never wanted to sue anyone so bad in my life. I regret going here so so much. Katie the injector ruined my face. I have never written a review like this but I feel I need to warn people. Katie my injector injected my PRF under my eye so painfully that I knew something was wrong in the moment. She pushed my existing filler into my ocular cavity in one eye which I now need removed. My ocular surgeon says this should be a malpractice suit but the release they have you sign obviously protects them from any sort of law suit I’m still going to try though. I also got MRSA virus from the injection ON MY FACE. Had to do 10 days of antibiotics and it is still giving me issues. The doctor on staff at Nuance dr Rhudy prescribed me Sulfa antibiotics to treat it which I had an allergic reaction to. My throat and neck swelled up so bad I had to go to the ER. In the same appointment I got Botox just on my forehead. My brows were dropped lower than before. Katie has some condition where her hands shake like crazy. When I put my arm on her leg so she could draw my blood for the PRF my arm was bouncing up and down so bad I thought she was doing it on purpose. I’m not sure if it was from caffeine not eating or an actual condition I honestly suspect drug withdrawal. Someone with that amount of shake should not be putting needles in someone’s face as their job regardless. It was the most painful Botox I’ve ever had in my life as her hand was shaking with the needle inside my face. The kicker to this appointment (I had 3 things done) I have always wanted to try threads for tiny wrinkles around my mouth. (I am 35 so not huge yet) I even asked her before she put these two tiny pdo threads by my mouth if the barbs would stick out or anything she assured me no they wouldn’t stick out she places them under my skin far enough blah blah. Well she places just two of the tiniest threads by my mouth and next thing I know she is coming at my face with scissors cutting the barb that is sticking out of my face!! Trimming the barb that is sticking out with scissors I couldn’t believe it she literally says to me “ya sometimes when I do this the end sticks out and my patients will just pull them out so if you are talking and it starts sticking out just grab it pull it out and come on and I can put another in.” I wish I had recorded this entire appointment I am not even joking. I sit here writing this with my eye still itchy and inflamed from both the filler stuck in my ocular cavity and the MRSA I contracted. Everyone at nuance is so full of shit they told me it was a spider bite they told me it was a pervious ZIT I had before I came in. I sent daily pictures of my infection and as it (the MRSA) was getting worse Dr Rhudy says “everyone here I have shown your pictures to says it looks like it’s getting better.” I have the texts to prove it. I’ve had to go to the ER, see a dermatologist AND and ocular surgeon all because of this stupid place. I am so sad about this I regret it like crazy never been botched so bad in my life. It’s not credible at all and I will be perusing legal action. Just save yourself the trouble and go...
Read moreFirst; I should tell you I am reviewing Nuance because I was asked, but it’s important for you to know that if your click the initial button indicating you had a bad experience, it no longer gives you the option to review, so right off the bat, Nuance is sabotaging any honest review that is negative and posting only positive ones. I had to post that I had a good experience to even be given the option to review. Second, you should know I am a consumer of aesthetic services for many years but also a PA and a clinician of 25 years, so I am familiar with industry standards and scientific evidence, which is why I was so disenchanted with the way I was treated and the false information that was given to me by Dr. Jackson Rhudy motivated by profit.
I went to a nurse practitioner recommended by a friend for PRF injections and purchased a package. Half way through my prepaid package, the NP left the practice so when I returned I saw a nurse injector and Dr. Rhudy.
Although I went for injections, Dr. Rhudy tried to up-sell more expensive and invasive services. He actually pointed to the nurse injector in the room who is 25 years younger than I am and said “there is a reason why she looks like she does and you look like you do.” Then he went on to recommend not only surgery and highly invasive skin procedures, but also hormone replacement therapy. As a PA for 25 years, i know the science behind Hormone replacement, so when I questioned him about the safety and risks, his response was “I’m not going to get into that with you, the risks of not taking hormones are greater than the risks of taking hormones”. This is not supported by science, and a cosmetic surgeon is not qualified to recommend hormone replacement. You should go to a GYN or practitioner who counsels you on both the risks and benefits and makes clinical judgement based on science, not the motivation to make money. He endorsed Hormone replacement by saying he takes them, but he shows every physical characteristic of normal aging and looks no better (and quite frankly even worse) than middle aged men who don’t spend any money on aesthetics. The services he recommended have weeks of recovery, and I prefer to live life, not hide away in my home to recover from chasing the fountain of youth that will never be attained. He even said “most my clients are very wealthy and just stay home and sit on the couch for two months to recover.
Listen, I’m all for doing what we can within reason to look you’re best, but Dr. Rhudy is selling a false narrative about aging and could even be dangerous by spreading information that has no scientific basis. And people go for it be use they want to look good. I say eat right, exercise, find joy and go to a different cosmetics surgeon who has a different approach.
And by the way, the injections I did receive were 100% ineffective. Did absolutely nothing at...
Read moreI can’t speak highly enough about Nuance Aesthetics. I have seen Dr. Rhudy and Dr. Laura Savage for over a year now and always had amazing experiences. They have been so supportive in easing me into non-surgical cosmetics. I started with Botox and they took time to answer every question I had and implicitly understand my personal concerns and aesthetic desires. When I started getting my lips done, they guided me through the process as detailed as they did when I got Botox. Their education and understanding of their profession is phenomenal. They gave me very subtle and beautiful lips to start- no one could tell! As I’ve gotten more comfortable with lip injections, they have systematically plumped me up to have lips that look like they were done in Beverly Hills. I’m constantly getting compliments and the best part is- everyone still can’t tell that they have been injected! I happily tell them that I have Laura take care of all my facial concerns because people deserve to know that they can have voluptuous lips that are customized to enhance each person’s individual face. Fast forward to today, and I’ve just had Laura do outer labial injections on my lady bits to even out some of the skin that has atrophied. Laura succeeded again! She is a true artist and professional. I would highly recommend her to anyone for their first time dipping a toe into non-invasive cosmetics and to those who are coming from other doctors/injectors. She is a goddess of customization, enhancement, and meeting her...
